I hope Alex Nylander gets a chance with a team like Chicago or San Jose, he needs to hang around the net more for rebounds. Good skater, good moves, but needs to score goals.
from rumors that Ducks have Frank Vatrano sitting out tonight vs sens game because of trade reason and Leo Carlsson back in tonight vs sens if true or not we will see?
Eh, he was ok… To be honest i never really noticed when he was on the ice. He never did anything to really shine or stick out. Sorry but aside from being Willies brother, that's all he had going for him. I wish him well, but sending him down is absolutely no surprise at all.
Alex has had some good shifts. Roberson just needs some time he's a natural goal scorer. The pucks just not going in this guy has the goods just has to tighten up defensively.
The leafs have a problem. They have a few.players who need more then 10 minutes a game or less. They don't mind give more minutes to players with an nhl pedigree who do not perform.
They'll be bringing up Steeves next. He has 13G in 13 GP with 26% shooting percentage. They need give him the type of ice time the Leafs gave Robertson and Minten and not give him bottom minutes on 4th line. They need to play him with some good players and give him a fair shot to produce for them.
I thought Alex would be much like Willy. But in my thinking I guess I'm a little premature. Willy toke a long time to become the star player he is, he was kind of a sleeper in his growth to get the maturity and confidence in his play like Willy has done.
I think Alex is the same! Even though he did nothing I did see sparks of a Nylander!!! But that said, it seem Alex is still trying to find grounding and confidence in his play. Willy spent a long time with a lot of criticism, benching, and not doing enough offensive and defense, through his career here. But what he has become is an all-star player playing both offensively and defensively, and delaying to find open ice, without getting crushed, crunch, or rocked, with hits by opponents.
The NHL is a hard league its not like playing IIHF, junior, or other, it's a hard league with not a lot of free ice out there as of now.
Elite players are some what quick to find it, and others take time. I hope Alex doesn't get picked up on waviers and has time to learn from the organization and his bother to find his way.

Alex is not even close, to comparing him to Willie! Like day and night.

I’m glad leafs gave Alex a chance but over all nice decision of letting him go we’ve got a lot of sniper no need him
He had no impact on games he played just another player no spark when on ice. Steeve same thing
Why alx nylander is would of keep and get rid of robertson he no good
He's not really an NHL'er imo. I don't think anyone claims him.
He is a guy who needs to play alot . Not 10 minutes or less. Lets not forget how good he was with Marlies.

Love to have a brandon tanev type player for 3rd line beside junior mint
Thing I noticed about him, he does not like to carry the puck, he dumps it in even when he has room to maneuver, complete opposite to Willy.
How does is bro feel about that,is he gonna want a trade now
Hes trash anyways
No loss if he gets picked off waivers. From what I've seen he's an AHL player at best.
Robertson next !!!
He has played way better then Nick Robertson
Who cares!!!!
Eh, he was ok…

Think that he is only a ahl player. Does not have the tools like willy. Noticed that he is a little slow.
He’s horrible, boat anchor
4th liner and lots of them around
Never noticed him when hes on the ice , at either end of the rink.

Let alex go play somewhere if he gets claimed someone gives him a chance to play better than playing ahl
Alex Nylander zero hockey sense. Nick Robertson zero talent.

Alex will unlikely ever play for the Leafs again. I predict.
