This Matthews goal was insane

The Leafs just greased one past the Devils at home in New Jersey that they totally did not deserve to win. Even the deserve to win-o-meter gave them a 15% chance. That and more in today’s NHL hockey video!

  1. Yeah, about that shot count….not very accurate. Leafs were outsmarted but not to that extent.

  2. Matthews Goal was sheer determination. I have thought hard about the last time we saw that kind of outstanding performance by a Leafs goaltender and the only true comparable is when Bruce Gamble shut out the Habs 55 years ago. That is where the phraseology of "standing on your head" was coined because he nearly did just that. Sure there have been stellar performances by great Leafs goaltenders over the years but last night was in a league of its own.

  3. No.
The insane goal was the Holmberg / Dewar goal.
It's so disrespectful the way you just glossed over that effort.

  4. A perfect example of 'take it and run'.
The lack of offense this Leafs team is generating is getting a bit scary though.

  5. When the shots were 18-1 to finish the first period I knew the devils would lose. That's what being a devils fan is.

  6. Careful. I’ve been watching since 1975. And there’s been a lot of good games and really hard losses leading in the third. This year I’m only watching the highlights and the points. I when they get past the second round I’ll watch. Too many years keeping the dream alive instead of actually living the dream.

  7. Idk how Markstrom doesnt poke check that at all 💀 every angle looks like he got within inches of the goalie where he didnt even move. Yikes

  8. Toronto is just a different animal. You can see it in the line-up (even going, probably 35-50% of the season with about 6-8 roster players out on IR). They have a HEAVY and big D-core. They have solid, solid D pairings. They're two goalies are playing a tandem role, both of them a respectable #1 and #5 in the NHL in SV% (and #3 and #4 in GAA). Sure, offense is the biggest problem, but it doesn't seem to be a problem, considering the direction Treliving and Berube, specfically, is coaching this team. But everyone knows, when the forwards are all healthy, AM34 is putting up 50G, Nylander makes 100 pts, Marner 100 pts, AM34 100 pts. We have a team here, my friends. I don't believe for a second they would be underdogs going into any Atlantic Division match-up. If they drew Boston?!?! Christ, they'd win in 5 or 6. Florida would be a tough 7 gamer, but other than that, they will cruise this Atlantic.

  9. Fake and scripted. It's as simple as that. The amount of skill in this game and it only finishes with 2 goals in regular time is clear and obvious rigging by the coaches. All it takes is to tell your players to "play safe". Vegas called and the nhl answered

  10. This was how Toronto played with Keith behind the bench. They would shout almost 50 on net and be up 1-0 in the 3rd and then get scored on. They would definitely lose in OT. Sheldon makes his teams weak .

  11. you forgot to mention Keefe was statistically the best Leaf coach ever, if division titles, playoff win percentage and Stanley Cups aren't considered stats.

  12. How many of these exact games have the leafs lost like this with keefe behind the bench
