John Shannon on most lively building in the NHL, Canucks loss last night and more
NHL Analyst John Shannon joined the guys and talked about the lack of atmosphere at Rogers Arena and the Canucks loss last night to the Blues in Overtime.
Everyone was glad to see Demko back last night, but he was definitely rusty. The bad turnover he made cost them a goal, and then they had another bad turnover that also cost them a goal. Result — Canucks lost. Demko made some great saves, but Canucks problems have much less to do with goaltending than offence and defence. Petterson is one of the Top 10 Highest Paid players in the NHL, and he is NOT living up to the expectations. Petey should be in the Top 20 for goals/assists like Quinn Hughes is right now. Will he make it by playoffs time? We shouldn't even be asking that question. Canucks are offensively weak right now, with Miller out which makes things worse. Quinn Hughes is outstanding on defence but he's about the only one, and we can't expect Hughes to carry this entire team defensively.
My guess is the city itself is just too comfortable… wives, family and girlfriends, dinners and seaside walks, grey skies and rain, just slows your rhythm… no idea really…?
The game was terrible at times totally amateurish.Therecwas some veterans that played well but there is no gel.it’s a watered down product including the refs.A kids game.literally
Are we sucking at home because of the media? The numbers don't lie. A lot of fundamental miscues and players holding the stick tight. I'm finally appreciating Tocchet's style of play with heavy forechecking and pressure to gain opportunities. At home we seem to boggle the puck and lose opportunities to attack the other way. Maybe we should all shut the F up.

Good insight on why the Assistants rarely, if ever get media attention.

As Steve Shutt once said about the fans in Montreal..they love ya win or tie..

It's not the atmosphere at Rogers that's the problem, it's the bad ice under the player's skates that is the problem.
I miss the intricacies of the soccer ⚽️ talk.🤠
“Can’t wait to get back up there”. Lmao. You guys will be back up North.

why is it always the coaches that walk the plank, and not GM's?
