  1. Team Canada are notorious for pulling these stunts. Remember not picking Crosby to play, instead selecting a old time player who was preparing for retirement? Team Canada are well known for the buddy system even before winning. Suzuki should be there!

  2. Meh i think this is a nothing burger where people just get offended by an idea, we simply do not know the real reason behind it we can speculate all we want and even convince ourselves that we know their reasoning but we don't

  3. I'm not surprised. It's been know for a long time that going to the World Championship improves your odds of getting picked for the big tournaments. I think it's stupid but no one should be surprised.

  4. Montenbaul refused to represent team canada aswell – without hesitation. Suzuki was thinking about it then declined cuz he was getting married. This atleast shows how Canada doesnt produce any good goalies anymore and won't win this tourney cuz of it

  5. Solid reason, they told before Championships that If you dont go there you might not get to play at 4-nations or olympics. I wish team Finland did same thing.

  6. There's another way to see this. Suzuki refuses to go to the world Championship and represent his country but now, because it's in Montreal he wants to go? You cannot represent your country only when it benefits yourself, that's kind of selfish.

  7. Because you want the BEST TEAM, NOT PLAYING POLITICS. Executives should be removed from the executives choosing the team!

  8. Boycott the tournament. NHL has a serious problem with the Habs, this includes officiating and crap like this. No respect for the Butthole league. He's in the top 15 in most categories that are used to rate centers. Serious prejudice and bias!

  9. "People are saying." Who said what, where, when and why. That's W5. Live by it.

  10. Makes sense if true. If he has a history of not wanting to represent Canada in the past, why would they want him to represent now. The kid needs to pay his dues

  11. I said at the time of Nick's refusal to go to the worlds that this may impact his chances of going to the 4 Nations Face-Off. It may not be fair, but the 'bubble players' have to go to the worlds to show how they perform in a short tournament. Besides, 2024 wasn't the first time Suzuki was asked and refused to play at the worlds…It's the third time in a row. He should have gone if he wanted to play in the 4 Nations Face-Off. It's on him…

  12. This post is childish. Team Canada is smart to reward players who have experience representing their country. Think about it kids….you will figure it out.
