Robertson has an NHL shot that's it. He can't carry the puck without losing it to himself. He bounces off players he tries to hit. He couldn't win a puck battle against an 90yr old. Just no room for an AHL player on this team.
He just isn't a fit for the Leafs. Brief glimpses aren't good enough time to move on and get what they can for a trade.
Robertson is a one dimensional player. He is a goal scorer. If that is all you can do at an NHL level you have to score. If you can't find a way to score you will never stay in yhe line up. I would say time to move on, but Robertson tanked his own trade value. He will clear waivers if sent down.
The problem is he has no trade value, but if you waive him he gets claimed (Likely by Chicago , Pittsburgh, or Montreal). And then you fear he figures it out somewhere else. But,
if he can’t play right now, what can you do?
of course, he should be traded, however, the return isn't worth Robertsons' "potential" upside.
Nick's time in Toronto has long passed. It's just unfortunate that his trade value is essentially nil.
For me it was time to go after his first 100 falls .. its awful to watch

I wonder if there's any roster, any point of time or other circumstance when somebody's time in Toronto isn't over. To my memory just while gone it was Marner god knows umbteenth time. Next week who knows, everobody gets their turn

Probably the worst possible time to trade him. He currently has zero value. Unless you believe he only gets worse you should give him a chance to produce.

Robertson stinks and should be dealt, but anyone who thought he’d be THIS bad is either lying or Nostradamus. Going from 14 goals and 27 points in 56 games to 2 goals, 0 assists in 23 games is an absurd drop off. He’s pacing for half the amount of goals he scored last year.

He's kinda the odd man out, but scoring in hockey can be a fickle thing, he might flourish somewhere else.
I always said he was the new Jeremy Bracco, we should have dealt him a while back for a 2md round pick, now he is worth maybe a 4th line plug and a late pick.
Leafs are still all about the core 4. No scoring ability at all beyond core 4. They are targets for disaster in playoff shut down hockey.
Just get a fkn 4th rounder you can flip at the dead line. ENOUGH

Trade Robertson, along with Dewar, Holmberg, Benoit, and Timmons! None of these players, will get the team deep into the Playoffs!

I would like to believe that Robertson's time at the NHL level, for as long as he remains under contract to the Leafs, is done. Whether that time actually is still remains very much TBD.
I don’t think trading him is the right call. At least not yet. Send minten and grebenkin back down since they don’t need to clear waivers, they should go back and dominate. It will be better for their overall development. I think you gotta get Willy and Alex together on the same line for like a solid month, just to see. Domi plays best with matthews. Robertson seems to do well with patches and JT. Connor dewar and jarnkrok should be the tradable assets. For dewar we have a shut down centreman in kampf both are relatively same skill level I’d say kampf is better at faceoffs. For jarnkrok, the team has kinda shown he isn’t really needed. Yes he’s better defensively than Robertson by a mile, but the team is better defensively then they ever have been since the marner Mathews era started. Jarnkrok would probably get more in return, him plus a pick might get us the other centreman we need
Kapanen, Johnnson, Bunting and now Robertson. To play an ineffective Robertson over Cowan or Minten is just a plot to increase Robertsons plummeting value.
If anything it simply comes down to timing.
