I was at the game as I live in Winnipeg. Let me tell you, it was painful to watch .
Ive aeen enough of McLaughlin. The square peg into a round hole philosophy isnt working. Just make a trade and shakeup the team. Ive neber seem a bruins team in my memory lose multiple games by 7-1, 8-1 scores in a simgke season. Something is deeply wrong. Its the players and the structure. Either change the players or change the structure. We cant Play Monty's style of hockey
Swayman, MacAvoy and Elias Lindholm demanded to get paid like they are that guy…the one who consistently produces at that elite level. They are great complimentary players but they are not that guy. Just watch how well they play for the 4 Teams bit..except for Swayman. Surely Team USA is ****ting itself whilst trying to figure out how not to play him unless, of course, they are down 8-1. By the time these 3 (all toppers on the Bruins payroll) become that guy, they'll be over 30 and the big question will be: are they (healthy enough to be) playing. š

My father was telling me how, a guy he knows through his work. Believed the game would be 4-1 Jets win, because āBruins never take the Jets seriouslyā I told him in return (he got home end of first) āwith how the bruins finished that first period? Itās going to be far worseāā¦I hate when Iām right. No connected passes, bounces going against us. No care, no heart.
My mother was once again disappointed in how the Bruins played āIāve never seen them play this bad,ā thatās been our entire season up to this point āwhat about the coach?ā This is our backup coach. Another jets fan I know tried comparing the Bruins to the Oilers from last year āthey rebounded!ā Difference is, they have a player who can score on a whim, plus. They turned it around after the first 15 games.
We only haveā¦2ā¦almost said 1 player above 10, which is still technically true because Pasta has 10 last I cared. Marchy has 11.
This team is a certified Sabres team. Will they win? 20% chance. Will they score? 10% chance. Can they kill a penalty? 12% chanceā¦might be back to 10% though, can we score? 12% chance. Is our goaltending dependable? Our backup can be.

Sway isn't a 8mil goalie and they all knew it before they paid him so I'm not sure who to blame.
Should have fired Sacco and Kelly and let Monty bring in his own guys to see what happens. Saccos been there since Claude, this teams being coached backwards instead of forwards

As a Jets fan, I wasn't expecting that beat down but I think there is a lot of parity in the league and with compressed scheduling one team can jump on another team and stuff like this happens. CBJ beat us handily just 2 days ago at home. Your right, Helle covers up some of our warts but it helps that we can roll out 4 lines.
Really I dont like the 4 nations cup because it compresses the schedule and players are fighting their own exhaustion as well as the other team and that's when the injuries start to happen too. Not fair to the fans.
Anyways next game in Boston should be interesting. Too bad we only play twice a year.

I felt we were pretty competitive for a bit. The burst of goals early in third sealed it and the rest was a shit show. Reminded me a bit of the game 2? I think against the panthers. Evenish going into third, cats get a couple of breaks to open up lead and bs decide to play a different game for the rest of it.
Sad to think but i think Habs will be in front of us by the start of 2025….

Just saying, I hate to hang it all on the defense playing soft. Looks like there might be a reason they are playing soft. I am not seeing the cycling and defensive zone layers that I have seen in past years. IDK, just seems like a back checking forward or two might need to collapse back into slot every now and again, so that the d-men feel like they can be a little more aggressive. Every time a defense-man takes an extra step to make an aggressive play there is no forward there to fill the spot.
As an outsider looking in… Ive said this about BOS for more than a few years now. In relation to management, it seems like there is "too many cooks in the kitchen". Either move on from Sweeney, or kick everyone else put of the room and let him cook.
And Zadorov… Did you guys bring him in only to play like a 7th defenseman meathead who only seems to be interested in bullying people after the Bruins are down by a bunch on goals?

So the goals last night went –
1. Penalty kill. Donāt track the puck on the wide shot and jets get a free one timer at the near post. Swayman is there but thereās a guy unmarked on on the far post for an easy tap in. Swayman could have done more to stop the puck from getting to the far post, but when you have an unmarked guy on each post bad things are gonna happen.
2. Pasta gets the steal and the entire team tries to breakout, but pasta immediately gives the puck back and now we have no forwards back to defend. Wide open one timer from directly in front of the net less than 15 feet out. Roofs it in the top corner.
3. Bad coverage on the penalty kill leads to clean pass across the center of the ice for a one timer from the far side slot that is roofed. Maybe Swayman could have gotten across quicker? Thatās a shot that goes in 80%+ of the time.
4. Turnover at the blue line leads to a 3 on 2 against flat footed defensemen. Wide open one timer from 8 feet in front of the net.
5. Turnover leads to odd man rush. Snap shot beats Swayman clean. This is the first one where Swayman wasnāt completely hung out to dry but still a really good shot when the nets have numbers.
6. Deflection in front of the net on a penalty kill.
7. Bad angle shot and Swayman doesnāt have his post sealed. First goal that is 100% on Swayman.
8. Horrific turnover behind the net on a simple dump in leads to ANOTHER wide open one time from less than 10 feet.
So watching it again, if Swayman lets in zero bad goals we still lose 7-1 (6-1 if you want to be a hard grader and blame him for the first goal getting to the far post). If Swayman stood on his head maybe we lose 4-1. Our puck possession, back checking, and penalty kill d zone coverage are all the worst Iāve seen since before Chara came to Boston. I donāt give a fuck whoās in net, weāre not gonna gonna have a shot with the skaters playing like that. Swayman gave up 8 goals and still had more saves than the other goalie.
