They are a bad team there top players are all minus hockey players but one and they all get power play points so they are all out played on the 5 on 5 game your bottom guys are holding there own and they get the penalty kill so what this tell you top end is getting out played by every other teams top end the only reason there not in dead last place is goal tending has won the points the facts are the facts
In Montreal , most fans/media want a short sexy rebuild to wit: a hard working team giving a good show almost every night while being in the mix. It is like having your cake and it too !!! For this team to become a genuine cup contender in the futur, they need more drafted players with higher end talent such as Demidov. Slaf, Reinbacher, Dach and Newhook are good prospects but very far from being elite…This is very simple, the bad rebuilding teams usually get the best prospects available at the draft while the rebuilding teams staying in the mix usually get to draft futur NHL bottom nine players and bottom 4 defensemen. There are still exceptions such as Buffalo and Detroit which can't do anything right on a continuous basis !!!
I’m listening to this and reading Dach’s stats. 25 is the most goals he had in junior. He had 14 few seasons ago in Chicago. I hope there’s a little Cam Neely in him ready to come out. But if you’re seeing him afraid to make contact out there, that’s a mental thing. I wouldn’t give up on him quite yet. But there’s concern for sure.
If Lane would no havebeen injured Cnadians would be closer to the mix .
For me I say put Slaf on the top line and get new hook to help centre Dach and Liane
