Stolarz won me $423 last night. What a guy
Tavares and Marner play the absolute lights out without Matthews in, but once Matthews came back its been pretty middling. The focus is on "why can't they play well with Matthews in" but I'm starting to find it a little suspicious that those 2 (in their contract year) are showing how amazing they are when they are on their own. All while Matthews just HAPPENS to take a step back in his production, showing that the Leafs kinda NEED Marner and Tavares and the team can't just rely on Matthews and Nylander like they did last year (during their contract years). That's a very convenient set of circumstances for their agents to use, all during early season hockey when each game isn't do or die.

The Leaf's have a history of leaving their goaltender to the wolves. Consider the 'playing better in front of Woll' an aberration, and that can change at a moments notice. Although I will say this, there were many games where I was swearing at the TV when the Leaf's just abandoned Sammy during his time here, but then played amazing in front of Murray/Woll/Jones, to the point where I thought it wasn't fair. Leafs are just a bipolar team. Only this year, the goalies are not the weak link anymore.

Woll is the baby and the guys want to take care of the little pooter. Stoli the Goalie is a natural thief and the guys breathe a sigh of relief because they don't have to have all cylinders chugging 120% of the time?
