This season, Tom Wilson has emerged as a vital leader for the Washington Capitals, especially during Alex Ovechkin’s absence due to a broken leg. I was thinking about that with the Rangers. The NHL seems very volatile in recent years. Teams can be killing it one season and not make the playoffs the next. And vice versa. Also, the Devils had 112 points in 2022-2023 then missed the playoffs last year. And this year they are competitive again.
As to PLD, he has a chance to really grow here as a player. I like that he adds size to the forwards.
And that's very classy of Wayne. I also think this is a trait that hockey players tend to have perhaps more than other sports. Of non-Capitals, I have more memories of Wayne than any other player I've seen at games I've attended. He had an offensive vision that is unmatched in NHL history imo.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact the the Capitals are 1st in the NHL, the Bears are 1st in the AHL, and the Stingrays are 1st in the ECHL.
