1. cap is going up and inflation.
2. At least they did not sign him through 40 years like they did with Lundqvist.

I gotta disagree with you here. Yes it’s an overpay and yes Igor has been greedy this whole time but if they let him go they’d have nobody decent enough to fill his shoes. They have plenty of cap space now with trouba gone and the cap is gonna go up every year.
