We really need a puck moving defenceman ..who can be good on powerplay. With out hronek . Hughes can't do it all. Tampa is a good example. Without hughes . Out powerplay is an absolute joke
from montreals perspective I dont think this would be a good idea. already lots of yung forwards trying to find their game and our defence has not been great loosing Matheson would make them alot worse. I think in the off season or next years trade deadline would be the time to trade Matheson. Gulie, stuble, lane, xahkei are all really yung and it showes trading out vetran d-man to bring up another rookie could be a disaster.
That saidiIf Dach is still a pylon by the trade deadline I could see this happening.
david savard and jake evans would be a good fit
Habs need a young dmen 17-22, somebody like Schaefer in this year's or Dickinson in the last.
Usually you need a top 10 pick to get guys like that but a few of them always do fall to the 2nd round, but odds your team picks the right guy are slim statistically. Not every team can get Shea Weber in the 2nd round each year, if they did the NHL overall would be a lot better defensively as a league 😉
So while I wouldn't mind trading a bunch of depreciating assets to a playoff team for something of value, a 1st round pick would be a minimum, or a young dman who projects to be a really great two-way dman who leans more on the defensive side.
Not a lot of teams are willing to give these guys up especially on an ELC. Because Habs don't want a guy who's already 28, otherwise in 2 years it's Matheson all over again.
Habs aren't looking like they're going to do any panic moves to rush the rebuild, the move has to make sense. I'm not really sure Habs have much interest in Hoglander. I'm sure there are other teams that are a better fit for the Habs in terms of trading. Vancouver's 1st rounder would be pretty late. I'd rather for example trade Matheson for NYI's 1st, a team where it has a chance to be 15-20 range instead of 25-30~
That being said I could easily see Matheson being moved to a western team even prior to the deadline for the right price. I just don't know if Hoglander moves the needle all that much. If it's a 1st with him I'd at least strongly have to consider it. It ultimately would depend on how many teams are in on Matheson.
I admittedly am not super high on Hoglander but who knows maybe Habs management are.
You are way too click baity. Stopped watching 2 years ago. You went from quality to quantity. You actually used to care what you were delivering.
heeeellll nah bro
no thank matheson a plug would be a L for van
Lego, this is trash. What have you become? See ya bud…
Montreal most likely is not interested. Matheson might get traded, but Hoglander is not a player they would have much (if any) interest. In a trade they would more likely target a center or a right shot D-prospect.
Pete says no thanks
If Vancouver is shopping for a D, i feel like theyd be more inclined to look at Fox out of NYR before any MTL defense.
Omg! Van would have to put a 🍒 on top of that cake. With that hypothetical trade, Great for Van, But bad for MTL 😅
NO THANKS HES 30 YEARS OLD… not sure wtf management is thinking… I thought their plans were going after guys in their mid 20's….
We don't want Matheson
I would love to see the canucks go after adam fox from NYR. That would be a very good contract to pick up but it couls cost ua some future depth
I don't want Matheson here because he's a bit of a dirty player.
Not gonna happen ! another small 5-9 player. Montreal have enough of those
No Deal
Don't you get sick of making these rumor videos? There's a tonne of real stories out there me. Why's it always come back to fantasy hockey?
hoglander for savard and a 3rd
Hey Leghorn, I don't understand why you put out so many stupid videos. Do you not think before you decide what you're going to present? Your ideas are so ridiculous. Sometimes to actually think that Montreal would be interested in this trade
Habs have too many small players now – why would they want to trade one of their best/most experienced D-men for a forward who is 5' 9" and has a total of 2 goals and 5 total points in 26 games?
As a Habs fan I would be alright with that. Cheers
