  1. I think sometimes the emphasis on retooling is overstated wrt these Caps. If you look at last year's numbers, you can see that most of their star players – Ovie, Carlson, Wilson – had historically – near-historically – low shooting percentages. So they squeaked into the playoffs on the arguably lucky play of Charlie Lindgren last season, but this season, a simple regression to norms would have put them pretty close to where they are now. I agree of course that the offseason acquisitions are really working out great. I think a LOT of credit is also due to Carbery, who has developed the Caps' young players very well.
