His hands have been far an away getting better. You can see his patience along the boards and he’s always getting that first move or fight back. Solid redemption arc as well after the Stone cross check last WCF
obviously last season was quite the redemption year in productivity being nearly. point per game for the fist time since 2017-2018 and i couldn't have been happier for him cause it drove me crazy too see him get so much shit from fans and the media the previous couple years before and during covid so good on him to shut up those mfers cause I personally knew he would bounce back eventually once covid stuff eased up and teammates were getting healthier. I personally was very surprised he didn't get an invite to the All Star game at the panthers stadium in February last year but whatever. Obviously the regular season this year took a bit of a step back but what do you expect at his age right? And hes made up for it quite well this spring in this playoffs. Hell if the Stars win the cup and he keeps up this production, I kind of hope he wins the Conn smythe. I mean if his productivity continues and the stars actually win it, then Gary Bettman surely has to name him a candidate and at least consider him a receiver
They don’t have many players in the NHL like him anymore. He can create space because of his play style, cause turnovers because of anxiety/fear of getting bodied, and has more time to make decisions with the puck all adding to his offensive numbers. This is why physicality is essential in hockey. He’s a textbook power forward with old school grit. Anyways…

If any Captain in the NHL right now deserves to lift the cup it’s Jamie Benn. Been with the same organization that drafted him for 17 years.
