Joe Sacco’s Impact On The Bruins

Joe Sacco’s Impact On The Bruins

The Bruins haven’t just been winning since Joe Sacco took over as the interim head coach, but also improving in a number of key areas in their game. Dale Arnold and Andy Brickley discuss how the Bruins have been tougher on defense, generating more offense and how the players themselves have been the catalysts for the team’s recent turnaround. With Brad Marchand, Pavel Zacha, Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak all standing out for their recent play. Also, Andrew Peeke sits down with Adam Pellerin to discuss how his first full year with the Bruins is going and being paired with Nikita Zadorov. Lastly, Natalie Noury joins the show to help preview the upcoming Men’s Hockey East matchup between Northeastern vs Merrimack.

  1. Ask the players. Of course, if that is not plausible, watch their actions on and off the ice. Monty was selling a different style of hockey with that soft "new age" attitude on the ice. Perhaps that was ideal for the first version he inherited; the team that "coached itself", or was it Bergy? After that- look away! Monty got 2/3rd's of quality goalie starts from the Ullmark-Swayman tandem…hard not to win enough to qualify with that performance, as some of this season's problems starting to show. The last version was…incomplete and incorrect. Enter Joe with much more player's experience and coaching experience. He wants to be in MA as Monty never left STL. Get that. Fortunately, for the B's, they have enough games to figure it out and they are not out of it. What's next? Well, most teams measured themselves against the Bruins for the past few years with their league leading starts. In fact, they came into the Bruins barn to get a point or two so they could up their standing and feel better about their game. Turnabout is fair play. The Bruins mission: get those f***ing points, boys! 🤔🤨

  2. On Pasta…the team has been changing up their looks. On the two Zacha goals, the goalies believed Pasta was going to shoot. Suppose Pasta gets more assists this year, as the Bruins increase their of defensive production? That's called great TEAM play. Just win, baby!
