not a habs fan but MTL and EDM are the canadian-based teams i like to see do well. MTL is in year 4 of the rebuild. people with fully functioning brains know that full rebuilds can take 6-8 years.
MTL may be dogshit now, but they got some exciting young talent, and a good pipeline as well. am excited to see guys like michael hage, ivan demidov and jacob fowler being involved with the canadiens in the future.
no shame in getting some more high-numbered lottery picks in the meantime. montreal in 2-3 years from now should be a p-off contender. once you're in the p-off's, anything can happen.

They got unlucky that their #1 pick came in a very weak draft and then they passed on Michkov. That kid would have already made our offense far more potent. Still though, with another top pick and Demidov, Fowler, Hage and Reinbacher in the pipeline among others, it's too early to tell but things are looking good for the future.
