They looked like contenders before their latest ten game stretch. Now they are risking falling out of playoff contention completely.

Seeing a lot of people cheering on the demise of the rangers. And I just have to say…I'm right there with them lol
I don't know how legit it is, but there are rumblings that Mika might be going through inner turmoil. Looking at his interview after the collapse against Seattle, he just looks broken.
If your value to the team is less than zero, being waived is always an option. The team has to really think you are better off leaving for free than keeping you playing. What can you really do in a CBA when they are willing to throw you out for nothing?
Miller, Lindgren, and Mika are complete disasters. All 3 need to go, for starters.
Let’s go DEVILS
Trouba wasnt the problem.
Whats funny is this would be a win win for rangers fans. If they don’t make playoff or choke , they have all the excuses for why it happened. But I feel they’re a dark horse contender for a cup they are capable of making a run. I’d be happy to see rags vs devils again in the playoffs.
1994 forever 🎉
Rangers have always depended on the PP WAY too much, Mika is God awful unless he is on the PP and Panarin is the only one I find with REAL talent on the squad besides Shesterkin
Kakko would do much better elsewhere – he's bit too Finn & introverted and needs environment that can support that. He won't find confidence otherwise.
You trade Mika zabenajiad, then fire your GM and coach. New coach, new GM and use the cap space from truba to pick up. Two-way, defenseman and two-way forwards
So now that this video is made, Rangers are going on a 10 game winning streak. If you are bad, then you are good, if you are doing well, then you fall apart. the curse continues. Buffalo finally looks like they turned the corner, drops 6 in a row. Bruins are done. time to break down the team, 5 game winning streak. Columbus is over achieving, and right back to their normal 12th place. San Jose is finally being more competitive, drops 4 games and trades their surprise goalie.
Rangers give us Mika and Kreider for Palat, Casey and Mercer and a 4th round pick
Drury's GM skills may be lacking. But it could be worse, he's not Lou.
Management seems to be a problem. Not the players, not the coach. Make a bunch of trades, nothing changes.
Calgary blistered them with 20 shots in the first and 49 total. A fun game to watch for a Flames fan.
is san jose really looking better than rangers? Future is teal.
Some words for the rangers fans out there, when Coach Lavi was with us, Caps finished tied for first in his first season, WC2 in his second because of a strong start, and fell completely apart in his third. Not saying he's a bad coach, but there seems to be a trend going on.
The rangers had the opportunity a few years ago with the memo to go through a proper rebuild, and instead fast tracked it and tried to patchwork a solution to keep “winning”. Yes they made 2 trips to the eastern conference finals but the underlying numbers have not changed with this team for years. They’ve never been good 5 on 5 and they rely solely on their powerplay and Igor playing inhuman hockey to win, eventually those chickens come home to roost and it seems like they finally have
Now we need the Washington and Carolina regime to fall as well baby and the Metro is ours next 4 to 6 years! Let’s go Devils! Top tier offense, great core 4 in Hischier, Hughes, Bratt, Meier, Great defense with Luke “Niedermayer” Hughes on it lol and above average goaltending will have us atop of the league for years to come!
You fix it by trading Shesterkin 50% retained to the Oilers
Has there ever been a President's Trophy winner that failed to make the postseason the following year?
Cuz the Rags are well on their way.
Peter is not a good coach. Overrated
They are doing what Oilers did last year: Play as bad as possible until the GM gets kicked.
Rag fans keep whining and lamenting about Zibanejad and Miller. I get it, they've been bad. But Panarin is the guy who's let you down in the playoffs. Unlike Kreider, who seems to be the next guy everyone wants to trade. Laf has been awful since signing his deal. It all feels pretty arse-backwards.
I'd trade Panarin. You can get a return for him. Maybe this team forgot the idea isn't to win the LolRegularSeasonChampionship banner.
Or don't. The drama is pretty entertaining.
Love it, want more of it
NY Rangers currently funnier to watch than Saturday Night Live
Could Drury's moves lead to the PA demanding that a revamped waiver system that prohibits teams in a player's non-trade list from picking up that player? Maybe, but I doubt the owners would ever sign off on that. Either way, that's the only way I can see of fixing the NTC and waivers, without leading to player's only signing if they have NMC
The system needs to be tweeted. They play a 1-3-1 and a man to man defense. The offense is fine but the system should be a 1-2-2 and zone in our own end
As a devils fan this made my morning drive. Fantastic
I don't think NYR should panic. This team played really well last year and they can turn it around. Panic in late January if it hasn't and then maybe think about trading Mika, etc.
I wonder if Laviolette has ever wondered why this keeps happening to every team he's ever coached.
This team has a habit of hiring a new coach, having success for the first season or two, and then quitting on the coach. Vignault, Gallant, and now Laviolette (not counting Quinn during the rebuild). All three of those coaches made it to the conference or SC finals, and the team quit on all 3 shortly thereafter. This current team had/has their veterans playing poorly (Trouba, Zibanejad, Kreider, Fox, Miller, Lindgren, Smith etc), while the youngsters are blossoming (Cuylle, Lafreniere, Schneider, Jones, Kakko, Chytil etc). You only win when you have both veterans and youngsters playing well at the same time. I'm sure they'll "reward" this team by firing Laviolette and giving them a new coach to quit on.
Sure this team is old and slow but they make up for it by being soft as baby shit.
