I love Wedgwood… buuuut there are so many other better options. I think of John Gibson, Mackenzie Blackwood, Anton Forsberg…
All three of these goalies share the time 50/50 and have been established at a minimum (at least to us) tradable. I thought John Gibson would have been PERFECT here. Obviously Cap is important but… kinda like a car or house, and a goalie? It’s not something you want to go “cheap” on. It’s literally something you “need” to be more than just reliable like a fourth line center. Your goalie needs to be at MINIMUM a top 8 player on the roster. Colorado is top 7 in the league with goals for. If they can just shut the door on some goals against they will become a contender again. I love Wedgewood but he’s not it. He will be average or below average.
Also I’m a Dallas Stars fan. I was BLOWN away and completely baffled by this. I want to hear the justification/explanation of the “why” behind this trade and how they chose Wedgie
