We don't know how much the cap will actually increase by next season. The numbers everyone is seeing right now are just projections of what the possible cap increase could look like next season, not what they'll actually be. So it's too early to assume anything as far as how much it'll actually increase by. So the Rangers could still be screw cap wise, we just need to wait and see. Also, while the Rangers do have cap space, over the next two years due to drury's two year prove it deals, the cap space the Rangers actually have to work with isn't that great if you take that into consideration.

I've heard a rumor that the Rangers are looking at possibly acquiring Steven Stamkos from Nashville. I think getting another 80-90 point forward is nice, but we really need more blue line help ASAP. after that loss to Seattle it's criticle
The sad thing is this team will never win a Cup with Mika. There has to be a way out of his contract. We need a true number one center.
I'm watching the game yesterday & about 8 minutes into the second I'm yelling at the TV & getting frustrated at the stupidity going on in the D-zone, so I get up & leave, I come back later & it's now 4-3 Kraken. I turn off the TV. Rangers D-zone coverage is pathetic. Miller is brain dead & mostly out of position. They are losing board battles & skating around like zombies. I'm wishing we had a guy like Montour on our D. We got 2 pygmies out there in Fox & Jones and a guy like Miller who seems to be lost in the D-zone. Won't happen, but Urho should go out there when he's ready & Miller sits.
This organization seems to be addicted to bad contracts.
Cap space is an asset for a rebuild.
