Islanders play bad defense imo when the other team pushs under roy late in games. Good teams find a way to win, bad teams find ways to lose

Roy is playing 4d chess by building the leagues confidence through the 1st half of the season. Then they will turn it on and finish 41-0 to take 1st in the metro on their way to the cup. I’be bet my 401k on it. Watch me get rich ha ha !
If you looked at the roster…..objectively…prior to the start of the season then your best outcome for this team was fourth in the Metro. The Islanders are an aging team with little real talent. I have watched Lou Lamoriello for his entire career and his philosophy of hockey has NEVER changed, build your team from the goalie out and play stifling defense and you win, the problem is that the overall offensive talent in the NHL has massively improved. So with a GM who follows a blueprint that hasn't been effective for the last 20 years, the Islanders never stood a chance.
