  1. We weren’t supposed to be great this year.

However: GM needs to take a serious step back and look at the first time coach.

  2. This year means nothing and l prefer the highest draft possible but forget James Haegens Habs won't finish in the bot🎉tom five. A late tenth pick would be more realistic but its me!
I think the best move is to give more ice time to Montembeault, give a chance to Connor Hugues who's in fire right now in the AHL, and give Mathewson couples of days off!

  3. We are going nowhere so no need to hurry. Would like to know if Matheson would sign again short term if not trade thought this should have happened last year. This team has loyalty so trade has to be good. Playoff teams would love Matheson

  4. Because Lane is already dominating more after each games he played. He has that peripheric vision combine with such strong hands and elite playmaking abilitiies.

  5. Habs are looking for french speaking players……. So in 2032 they should be good.
    😂😂
Peewee coach but he speaks French, I miss Louis Leblanc, and Guillaume latenresse, and that other dude that never player, but spoke French.😂😂😂
They're in the mix for the first round pick, not the playoffs, it was a quote lost in translation 😂😂😂

  6. The canadiens would be crazy to trade any of their core players. They need a goalie upgrade and a few supplemental pieces but mostly they need another season or two to grow. Slaf is very young still. Newhook started terrible but now looks like a player any team would love to have. Heineman looks like much more than a 4th liner to me. The future is bright. Having said that adding a guy like Gibson would help a lot if the price is right.

  7. They are the third youngest team in the N. H. L, they are still in the. Rebuild process, and the players need to mature, Patience? is virtual, they will reach their potential once Jacob flower. Arrives within the next 3 years. Goal tending is hurting there chances of winning right now. Don't make any trades just to please your audience. It's the worst thing to do. We know what the problem is. Gold tending immaturity and within the next 2 years. If St. Louis doesn't produce, change the coach. As for now, stay the course straight ahead full speed…. go Habs go

  8. 7:01 Rangers have done there rebuild in 3 years. I think a rebuild should take no more than 5 years as players should be reaching there prime. 7:41. Beyond 5 years you have done it wrong and you run the risk of the window being closed for 5 more years I believe.

  9. The performance of the goalies is subpar but hard to really evaluate since the defensive structure is so weak. Primeau and Montambeault are good technical goalies and with a correct defense they can handle themselves. Correct this situation and maybe you won’t be so hard pressed to get a new goalie.

  10. I see no positives in MTL wining any game unless I see them actually playing good smart hockey. If they continue to play like dummies but are opportunistic versus teams also playing bad against them they might get some points but that means a worse draft pick.
I would rather see MTL lose 30 in a row but see the yare playing smarter AND tougher on puck battles because that would tell me we are moving in the right direction.

  11. Elliot Freeman has a take? Let's see how dumb it is this time. lol, the team is under a rebuild and the team is in Canada. Everyone will go to Florida or Dallas. Shockingly obvious.

  12. I don’t see a trade in the next 2 months. Couldn’t get someone to move the needle without overpaying at this point. If Primeau continues to struggle, down he goes and a Rocket goalie will come in. In the meantime let Dobes, Mailloux, Beck,Roy and others simmer in the A getting huge minutes and honing their game. They’ll be rolling into the big club later this year. I always thought taking Allen and Monahan off the team was going to be a much more impactful loss than many thought. Stay the course. Keep working on hybrid defensive structure. It will really work when Demidiv, Beck, Roy and others are Habs!!

  13. I still believe Montembeau and Primeau are stepping stones to someone better between the pipes. Having said that, a few other players are too.

  14. IMHO, this Habs roster's "need list" are the following: another bonafide Centre. (Suzuki is a good cerebral Centre but he needs assistance relieving offensive pressure). I feel our D-core is in a bit of a shambles. We have the ingredients but lack the proper mix of Dmen…too much of a mish-mash of player choices Ex: Guhle should have a proper Right side partner so he can return to his more comfortable left side and they should be the shut down pairing for years to come. Hutson requires a more mobile right side Dman to pair up with…Savard is a good veteran Dman but with all due respect, way too slow. Arber Xhekaj should be allowed to play his physical style of play, and given more opportunities to use his booming slap shot. Arber is no all star but a unicorn player of his caliber and the skillset he brings a team, makes your team play bigger. Finally, this team lacks a proper 4th line with an identity. Be it a defensive minded line, an energy line, a line that flat out hits and disturbs the other team. But my last "need" may be argued, and that's fine, it's only my personal opinion, this team needs a more experienced structured voice to lead them…a new head coach. With all due respect to MSL…a great hockey mind with endless HHOF hockey experience and definitely a good communicator but his lack of head coaching experience is IMO, being detrimental on the development and future progression of this team. I would love MSL as a coach, but not as the Habs head coach.

  15. 1 more year … Demidov, Mailloux, Dobes or Hughes as backup. Bad contracts out.

  16. The Storm shall pass. People just have to stay calm during the storm. Eliot is just creating news. Montreal has Laine coming back. Hagens why do you keep saying Hagens. Habs can't draft another small player. Habs need a player like Porter Martone. Not another 5'10 player.

  17. Bring up Roy to make a little change just to get the impatient fan to close the zipper!! But will Anderson, Armia, Gally, Dvorak, Primo, Savard, Matheson, Evans… be part of the rebuild?? NO so they are far from a finish rebuild 🤷‍♂️ … even if the fans put pressure because they dont understand the process of a rebuild the organization have a plan and won't play with the futur of the teams and there jobs. So patience is the word here 😉

  18. Habs have been pretty bad so far this year. Funny enough, they're only 3 points out of a playoff spot.

  19. I always like Friedeman's analysis but I don't think this is anything directed toward Hughes, more the rumblings from the shitty side of the fanbase that doesn't want to wait. There haven't been any crazy moves up to this point that handcuff the future moves and I don't forsee them coming within the next few years.

  20. If Hughes hadn't been in such a rush to move Allen and Kovasevic for practically nothing, he wouldn't be in the position to need to make a panic trade now.
