Where the heck is the Cap coming from to get both these guys? I mean even with 50% retention on both leafs dont have the same.
I dont see Jake Evans being worth a 1st AT ALL. MAYBE a 2nd. If Toronto was to do this it would have to include Kampf or Jarnkrok.

First of all Robertson was only offered 875,000 for 1 year. He is small, he has 2 goals in 23 games and is a defensive liability. He has played 23 games only because Jarnkrok is injured.

Not even close to fair value for the Leafs. The Leafs do not need another bottom 6 player, even if they want to fill the 3C with a defensive player.. What the Leafs need is a healthy lineup. Jake Evans isn't worth remotely close to a first. Zero chance the Leafs pay a first for those two.
To compete for a cup, teams need to have potential top 6 forwards being pushed down to the 3rd line. THAT is how championship teams are constructed.

Robertson is done in Toronto anyways. They only signed him for a year because they knew Minten would be ready as he is and there’s a good chance Cowan is full time next season. There’s just no room left for Nick. The rest is up to him to find a job elsewhere

Robertson isn't really worth anything anymore. He's garbage. But I agree with Darius, I'm not interested in trading high picks anymore.
Leafs need to spread out the core four on three lines and play Robertson with someone who can also score so he can get some points and create some value or just wave him. That's where it's at.

Altho I live behind enemy lines here in the Big Smoke, speaking as a looooong time Habs fan, the trade you outline doesn’t make sense to me. Robertson, like Rossi for Wild, may be nice players with lots of skill. They don’t fit the rebuild model going forward. Bigger goalies, big, heavy, nasty D-men (Hutson exception that proves the rule), a mix up front 1-2 Smurfs, 4-5 Average size dudes, 7-5 XL dudes. No one on Leafs roster, that you want to move, that is of any interest in Cup City.
