Caps look outstanding but Hendrix Lapierre has regressed (probably exhausted from so much hockey last year). He needs to go to Hershey and has looked fairly abysmal.

Nice to see some due share talk about OV and the Caps from Canada's side. Regarding Politics, it should stay out of pro sports because it can become such a sour subject to talk about. OV is a human being like anyone else, but plays pro hockey and is on the verge of breaking one of the greatest NHL records of all-time held by the Great One! All hockey fans should embrace and enjoy that when it happens because breaking a record like this almost never happens!
Also I watch every single Capitals scrum and Carbery frequently throws players under the bus but it’s part of his “modern” coaching style
Leafs need a win vs Boston. It's too long of a regular season loss streak vs Boston. They need to break that streak.
Errr, Hendrix Lapierre is kind of not doing as well this year as he did last year, Frank.
They should put Robertson with Taveris and Pac and Nylander in the stands so he can see what defensive effort looks like
Thank you, Alan May. I listen to Leafs fans absolutely murder their players online, and the media constantly hounds them. I watch it from D.C. and think, "Man, if Alex Ovechkin had been drafted by Toronto, he never would have won a Cup. It took him 13 years to finally win the Cup. In Toronto, they would have blown up the team's core before they broke through." Like, D.C. can be tough on the Caps, but the city also lays off the team in the offseason and pretty much waits until June to judge the team. It leads to more winning, I think, because players don't dread the wrath of their city.
Ovechkin already is the greatest goal scorer of all time. he has led the league in goal scoring 9 times and nobody else is even close.
it flipped when the teams learned how to properly 3 on 3. early on they played 3 on 3 like it was a constant power play. But they all adapted the strat that everyone does a couple years ago
For the last 10 years with Leafs fans it’s been “our number one goaler has lost his net to the underpaid number two”
And then number 2 becomes next year’s number one;

Sportsnet experts predicted last season Capitals will not make it to playoffs. They keep criticizing Ovechkin and talking about Toronto Maple Leafs – the overrated team who didn't win anything since 1967. Not signing with Toronto or Edmonton was one of the best Ovi's decisions in his lifetime 😊

And he is still a young player, on his way up. Just played 3 seasons in NHL, since 2021.
Leafs have just Knies on same level of the play. No else good young player on roster.
I would have liked to see following lines when Järnkrok if they want to have 3 contributing lines:

67/89 – 91- 16
74 – 19 – 88

It would be amazing if he scores 50, breaks the record and wins 1 more cup in Washington before retiring. This is the best he's looked in a few years. Greatest scorer of all time and did it in an era with less time and space, better goaltending and higher skilled players overall. He's the best ever scoring wise and most of his goals are 5 on 5 as well, debunking the PP trope. He can do it from range, from the slot or crashing the net. Him and Crosby will go in first ballot the 2 best players that defined the post-lockout NHL generation and rejuvenated the league. He also lost 2 years. COVID and the lockout making him have to wait a season.

I support going with Woll vs Bruins, he's got to play. Our tending is fine. The problem is the goal scorers, it's so critical, they need to start producing.
Bourne is right for sure, it's just another game. The best way to psych out the Bruins is to just treat them like anybody else. Put Woll in, make sure he gets right. Big picture, there are 82 games. In the spring you won't care if you won or lost a single particular game in November
If you guys are going to talk about the Washington Capitals, you have to talk about the emergences of Connor McMichael and Aliaksei Protas as legitimate Top 6 Players alongside the rise of Dylan Strome as a True #1 Center. The lines of Ovi – Strome – Protas and McMichael – Wilson – Dubois are performing incredibly well and deserve credit.
This is one of the most wildly unprepared shows

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Versteeg was going to come on and not put a torpedo into Marner. I have one question did the Leafs pay Matthews based on his last two playoffs or did they pay him because of "69", Exactly why they paid him, and Mitch was a big reason for that happening. Marner always held to a different standard, and because of that they are close to losing him. I don't doubt that Marner loves the city and loves the team, but it just isn't reciprocated and why Marner likely has a foot out the door.
