Well, if you really want to be honest about the 3 game winning streak, the 3 teams they beat were all headed in the wrong direction…Tonight is a really big test, they're playing a revamped capitals team, let's see them against a real contender.

Every time the Sens play Toronto it’s their game 7. The fact the Leafs can NEVER get up for these games proves they will never win anything substantial.
The Senators have been taking the Leafs to the woodshed for several years now and the question is what are the Leafs going to differently the next time they play. Unless the Leafs are prepared to bring a fast skating, physical game for 60 minutes they’re going to lose to any NHL team with strong forechecking and board and face off control. When the Tkachuk brothers get together in the off season I’m sure they have a good laugh about the Leafs and how soft they are as a team. To watch Reavo back down from Tkachuk last night says it all. The scenario from last nights game has gone on for years. Get rid of Shanahan and break up the core 5 to create cap room for some character players. Peripheral play without going to the net has become the trademark of the Leafs and their power play has been nothing more than a passing drill and a clear short handed opportunity for opposing teams. Go the net and shoot the puck more. Even if he can’t win face offs Johnny-T can do that.

The only reason Marner is playing is for his contract. He will want mathews money and cannot perform in the playoffs. Let Marner walk, not worth 11 Mil and will wand 13 Mil and he is not a centre. Split Marner and Mathews up & put Mathews with Domi and Marner and JT. We need a Doug Gilmour or Clark type player or Gary Roberts.

Whenever I see the name Tkachuk or Staal in the other teams lineup I just prepare for the guaranteed loss.
How can you have depth when 4 players are paid half the team salary? How can the remaining team members get inspired to play hard?
