This season is more align to what the Wild usually do. The Wild have been a better team over the last decade than the Leafs. Wild have the 10th best record in that time. Quit acting like this is out of the norm.
If you're a goaltender … HOLD YOUR STICK!
13:17 Canucks fan here, only here for the pain, but do not let me hear you complain about the Leafs schedule, Steven.
I'd like to know how many other teams to back to back on the road with exactly 9 hours off. 23 hours between games. I dont even know howbtonsearch that stat, but id be willing to bet the Leafs have the most lol
Hey Steve! I’m assuming you’ve already talked about this earlier in the year but I’m just wondering if your making an audio book for your new book? Just since I’m not a big book person but I love listening to your podcasts and having an audio book of just hockey stuff from you it would feel like I’m having a 1 on 1 convo with you and I just thought it would be a huge benefit to people that have a visual hinderance to where I think it would allow them to enjoy it just as much as anyone else 😊👍🏻
Does this mean? Do you think, the PP coach is not good enough?
Nice meeting you in London, Steve‼️ I’m the one who mentioned a restaurant and Gord Downie to you‼️
Offense is not the problem … thye scored toooo high last year … if thry scored 40 less goales they would still be in the top 5 to 8 in the league … also do u think these team goes 0 for 20 on the pp again this year ?
If they had a 15 to 20% pp this year .. they are a 8-3 team
Defense has always been a the main problem and it looks alot better this year
"Why are fans seemingly panicking more this year than any other year?"
Because we're supposed to be better than that. We picked up a Stanley Cup winning goalie. The core is older, more experienced. We have a Stanley Cup winning coach. We picked up 2 amazing defensemen (1 who just won a Stanley Cup). Why are we so mediocre? Matthews just came off a near 70 goal season. Where are his goals this season?
no playoffs this year for us this year for sure… which sucks cus i was finally gonna go to my first leafs game this season but i don't wanna waste my money if they're gonna keep playing like trash lol
The crying about the schedule or start times and how it's not fair is hilarious like these are high profile athletes.. like geez you leaf fans are so soft
Yes, the Leafs have had a similar record to start the season over the last few seasons, but they've also ended the season in similar way. I wouldn't say it's panic, I would say it's frustration. Built up frustration of seeing no progress from seasons prior.
Good ole Blake Peterson can suck it! Season is still young. Steve is a legend. Don’t come for him.
Steve when you come to Dartmouth can we just cry together for a little bit please..
How do international fans get a hold of a signed book?
they are not liking new system seem miscombobulating lol
its early
Wild fan here. I completely agree with the timing between games. Wild had one of those early this season against a rival in the Jets. I think this should be changed in the future. that 3rd period was so competitive!
What would they do if they had a 9-5 job 5 days a week these poor babies. Give it a break
3:32 Please tell me u weren't drinking and driving Steve or u drank the beer at the event then had coffee/water before going home.
Great job Steve, get a Good night's sleep. You deserve it
"Stole-LARS" not "Stoll-lers"
Bunch of cry baby fans, Ottawa just p-layed back to back with travel and won the second game 3-0. All teams have back to backs.
Wild kicked your ass. They rock your world i took them back in September for $100. To win their division and $100 to take the piss cup. Win total 59,000
As a Wild fan I did not call it but we certainly will take it!!! But knowing the Wild they will crash and burn at some point. Either soon or in the playoffs.
If only Toronto could play Winnipeg for 40 games.
the way this team sounds is a lot like they've been for a long time, very top heavy and very little actual depth. They played a Wild team where I think half of the scoring or at least a 3rd has come from the 3rd and 4th lines so far. from the top 2 lines you either have 26 goals or 29 goals (Depending on where you see Ryan Hartman) and the bottom 6/Defensemen have 15 or 12 (And yes this is counting the goal from Gus against the blues) There are also currently 2 Wild players who haven't scored a point and both of them are in the AHL currently.
I'll also add, if you look at the NHL schedule on Back to Back games, Look at the Minors and you'll probably start wondering why the hell that schedule looks like that. AHL and ECHL games are typically ALWAYS back to back games and usually with a 24 hour difference barring Sunday games which are typically 4 hours earlier than the games on Saturday. This doesn't include travel on MOST occasions but it can and probably will include travel eventually. Example, February 7th and 8th, The Marlies have a game at 7PM on the 7th, then they have to go into a 4PM start on the 8th. No travel but that's still a 21 hour turnaround. Next weekend, they do a swap with Belleville where they play at 7PM on Friday, then they go to toronto from belleville to play at 4PM Saturday. the next weekend, 3 games, 2 away 1 home, Friday Feb 21 7PM Start in Syracuse, Saturday, 5:05PM Start in Rochester, then they go back home sunday for a 4PM start against Manitoba.
There's other examples of really insane back to back to back games in the Minors but that's just as an example of how crazy it is at the AHL level. the NHL players also have it easier with air travel to most places so a St. Louis flight to MSP isn't really all that bad compared to the bus trips of the AHL and ECHL.
I know I'm late to the party on this video, but I do want to say that I LOVED watching the Leafs play on a Sunday MORNING (Eastern Time) in Sweden last year. I really thing the NHL and the PA should start doing occasional Sunday morning games. This "no games before noon" crap is crap!
The Wild was my second team for so long and I can't even be mad when my boy Jared Spurgeon clowns on my hometown team. Leafs D needs to watch his tape.
Wait till gm 30 before we say the wild are good … caution caution
Sens fan here Steve. You are without doubt the best thing about the whole leafs universe. Legend.
I am from Newfoundland. I was in Ontario(Georgetown) last week and I couldn’t find your book anywhere🙃🥲
