  1. Good conversation! Like someone else mentionned, we're in year 3 of a rebuild. I expect this year to be another difficult year for the Habs. Hopefully, some progress this year and get better next year!

  2. These guys really need to bring in a guest host when they discuss the Habs, they clearly have no idea about what's happening with the team.

  3. Hey now! Don't call the Habs soft, they're the 7th most penalized team in the NHL. According to the refs, they're pretty mean.

  4. You can tell how bad of a take this is because you listed Dvo as a guy who is supposed to be performing… since when are we trying to make the playoffs too 😂 this is a troll job by the sdpn crew 😂

  5. 1. No, Habs management did not say their goal was to make the playoffs. They wanted to be 'in the mix' is what they said (they are not so far, OBV)..
    2. They are the second youngest team in the league
    3. Also, they are the second youngest team in the league.
    4. As well, they are the second youngest team in the league.
    5. Everybody relax; the team is still in reconstruction territory.

  6. Marty is a large part of the issue. He has handcuffed his grit players like Pezz and Arber, who is a good defenseman and far better than give it away Matheson, and is running the ship into the shore. It is time for a tide change and for Mtrl to get a coach that doesn't need to be french.

  7. Not that this has to do with anything, but what is the leafs identity…😂 you 3 released this video as the leafs get demolished by the rebuilding Sens.

  8. Steve admits he has seen only 2 Habs games. 'Last time we saw Monty it was a 47-save shutout'
Don't even bother commenting when you only watch them play the Leafs. Not possible to give an informed opinion.
    Nothing of note said here.

  9. The playoffs run was driven by the players, Ducharme had nothing to do with. Just like when they won the cup in 1986.

  10. They've been absolute dogshit and they're 4 points out of a wildcard spot haha…give it 30 games. They probably won't bounce back and steal a spot but they'll be better going forward

  11. During a rebuild, patience is key. As well, progression is not linear. The Habs lack experience and talent…. 2nd youngest team in the league. Relax. Two more years to compete for the playoffs.

  12. Steve is right here not making the playoffs is a big issues in our fan base. So yeah as much as possible for the playoffs we want to be in eveytime we can.

  13. Every habs fan expect them to be good in 2-3years. If they can be in the mix before, fighting for the 4-5th spot in the division, everyone would be happy but also everyone knows that you need the full team healthy and every player to be able to show up every night. The team is really young, many players still needs to develop. After that period only, St Louis will maybe need to be replaced for someone who can do more than just developping players. There was so many coachs looking at their systems but never at the players. The priority now is the players, the system will follow with St Louis if he can or someone else when the team will have enough maturity. But 1 or 2 more high pick won't hurt.

  14. They are badly coached for a young team they are coaching like they have a veteran team they are a young team and you have to put the correct plan in place to support the young players not leave them out to dry the young defense and goaltending are left holding the bag by themselves so many times

  15. I don't mind them losing as long as there is progress. Near the end of the season last year the number 1 line was dangerous every shift. They can't get out of their end now. The 2 goalies made the saves they were supposed to. This year they let the soft ones in. The defence was getting steady. This year they are a mistake factory. I was so excited to see how they were going to build upon the end of the season. That excitement died pretty quick

  16. Caufield being better is just because Ducharme was not letting caufield play. We all forget that Caufield was hot when Ducharme was benched by the nhl.

  17. I love when people pull the “they were just in the finals a couple years ago!” They weren’t ever good, just a fluke season with an easier format with price and webers corpse dragging you guys there.

  18. They are talking like they don’t remember 2006-2016!😂

    Rebuilds don’t take 3 years

  19. People have a short memory. The Habs were te-rri-ble under Ducharme. Case in point: they finished last. LAST!
I don't care how little experience MST has, this is year 3 of a rebuild, the media need to calm down.

  20. They're not struggling. They are executing a long-term plan. Demidov and Hagens joining roster next year on entry-level contracts. Be afraid.

  21. Allen might have been a good guy in the locker room, a veteran presence but he was by far the worst goalie on the team last year. He allowed some soft goals mostly every game either that or he was locked in, no in between. I was suprised we got something for him at the deadline considering how other goalies with similar contract and stat were placed on waiver without being claimed.

I think the lack of experience on the D core is what is arming the team the most. Harris and Kovacevic were definitly more NHL ready and defensivly aware despite both having a lower ceiling than Mailloux, Barron and Hutson.

That and also Sean Monahan’s shoes haven’t been filled since. Now that the team has some expectation to be better it seems like all the guys who could have been a steady 2nd line center can’t take a step.

  22. Every bottom feeder team in the Atlantic got better. the goal was 8-11 in the East. Give it 2 more years

  23. While it is true that St. Louis may not be considered the best coach at the moment, it is important to take into account the rosters and evaluate the overall situation.

  24. These guys need to just stick to the Leafs, they’re always so misinformed and wrong about every other team

  25. Jake Allen last years with the habs was pretty bad, i think it's more the lost of Monahan and Kovasevich that impacted the team, Dach was suppose to step up which he didnt do yet.

  26. "Top 5 toughest guys…" ummm nah. Top 3 at worst and it's amazing how Reaves goes back to his btch house every time Arber is in the lineup

  27. Cmon boys…
We never expected the team to make the playoffs. Somebody said "we want to be in the mix."..which means maybe a better point total than last year. The pipeline of talent needs to be continued, which means..more high draft picks. It's year 3, it may take 3 more to get into playoffs. 2 more if the Hockey Gods are generous.

  28. TLDR: No defence, and non-NHL goaltending. Montembeault is a known commodity at this point, he is what he is, which is a career .897sv% goalie. Don't even get me started on Primeau.

  29. It's pretty simple, the Habs has no defense, hasn't had one for decades. Price used to be there to bail them out but he's not there anymore.
We have the scorers now, we replaced a godly goaltender with an above average one, the only thing left is the defense.

  30. Maybe they should of kept kotniemi and drafted Shane wright slavkovsky just another kotniemi
