Stevie. I love you bud. but on probably the best game I've seen the leafs play in this era, as far as making it deep into the payoffs goes, and you start with complaining about Matthews. I switched it off after 40 seconds. never done that before. but I'll be back next week. luv ya.
The hits are very different, Reaves went around Nurses shoulder to jump into Nurses face. Knies is couched down, there is no way to hit his chest.
Officiating is a brainwash you watch the hit and see it in slomo and you're sure of what you have seen then they tell you it was a clean hit and the commentators who thought it was dirty change their mind why you have seen the video it didn't change brained washed

They got it wrong. The NHL needs to get a bigger screen for reviews and some vision exams. He lifts off the ice. He went into an intentional hit. He hit him in the head. By their own rules it was a dirty hit, should be a penalty and suspension.
We fans say this every season; the NHL needs take head injuries and player’s safety seriously and f-ing do better at it AND consistently enforce their own dang rules.
Since you mentioned him repeat offenders like Trouba need dealt with harsher punishments so they get the point or they are out of the league. No penalties or minor (to them) fines aren’t fixing the problem. TBI and CTE are serious issues. Things like this just get people to tune out and watch something else. They’re so worried about the bottom dollar they fail to realize how much intentional head hits and inconsistent rule enforcement costs them.
I also doubly hate to see Knies hit, again, with a hard hit with no consequences for the player hitting him. Remember that utter BS hit and then smashing his head into the ice repeatedly that went uncalled for in Knies’ first NHL playoffs? And then that guy skated off and cross-checked another player in the back of the neck/head?
BS like this is why it took me so long to get into hockey and why sometimes I get frustrated and don’t watch. As someone who has stood up to bullies and defended others against them, I have zero tolerance for that in a freaking game. Intentional head hits are not a part of the game and should not be tolerated at all. No more get out of the penalty box free cards.
You’re correct, Steve. I make videos for YouTube on multiple channels. They already have all the content and would only need the explanation. It would garner views for them and help grow the league. It would be good examples for both adults and kids. AND they ought to love this, views will also gain them money. They have everything they need, but choose poorly.
They also don’t realize that publishing old games on their YouTube would actively grow the sport AND earn he league more money. But that’s another issue entirely.
Lets also keep on mind…PIETERANGELO TOOK A 2 HANDED, OVER HEAD, LUMBERJACK SWING AT DRAISAITL'S HEAD 2 YEARS AGO IN THE PLAYOFFS…..PIETERANGELO SKATED ACROSS THE RINK, AFTER THE WHISTLE HAD BLOWN TO DELIVER THE CHOP……..PIETERANGELO RECIEVED A ONE GAME SUSPENSION!!!!!…Kind put's things in perspective, doesn't it?

I agree with Ken Dryden and Ray Ferraro. The rule is "Illegal hit to the head." There should be no hits to the head. Period.
I was at this game. Everyone in the building was in it and it felt SO GRITTY. I felt like they came out strong and kept it on all game. A lot of passion on the ice and with the fans. I loved it!
He hit the head and leaped on contact making the head contact worse. Is it as bad Revo’s ? no but it’s something.
It's like the NHL actually listened to you and produced exactly the video you asked for. I'm impressed that they chose to explain why something was not a penalty, because that seems like opening a door that you don't want open. Not sure I fully agree with their logic, but I'm happy they explained it.

There should be a special term for a bench assist where the person who replaces you gets a point, especially the goal.
I was at this game… probably the second best game ive ever been too (first was Matthews' 60th in 21-22)

The Leafs DO backcheck. Matthews DOESN'T backcheck. Maybe that's the difference factor in the latest games.
The weasel and the rat will not adapt that idea, they dislike the leafs to a point that sentencing the leafs, is their objective.
Looks like the NHL referees intentionally got that call wrong so they could see you scream your head off on this video the next day … unfortunately for them, you took the mature approach.
Matthews has time to scout for himself. They don"t even benchwarm with Shaymus Stevenson in NCAA. He went from top graduating with a 57 point season to a glory days person under NCAA system. Matthews could just take the drive and find out what I have seen. I went to carr the same years as Higgins and Flatley then west humber the same years as Gretsky.

I have no doubt in my mind that the player safety dept for the NHL watched this video because they did try to explain the difference between the two hits……..
Their explanation is very subjective….I disagreed with their assessment.

My one worry about the "why this wasn't a penalty" videos is if there's a high-profile hit that the refs incorrectly say isn't dirty, its absence from the weekly roundup will be noticed and Conclusions Will Be Drawn. I'm not sure the league wants to go down that road.
