Is this a joke? The sole problem of Cozens is that he have no NHL Top 6 wingners with him on his line. Aube-Kubel is a good grinder, but not that much and the other one, Jack Quinn, is good for an average AHL team and have nothin to do in the NHL actually.
You do whatever you need to in order to get his confidence going….he hasn’t lost his talent he didn’t get too old (obviously) can still be not joust a good but a great player. I applaud doing something about it

Adams isn't looking to add anyone because no one wants to come here and that'll be his excuse to keep his job and fuck over the team even more.
Do we even want Adams to make any more deals? You gotta think Pegula is eyeing a change at GM before next off-season. He can’t possibly trust Adams with deciding the contracts of all 5 of our big RFA’s next off-season. Let a new GM have as many assets as possible to work with before Adams makes desperate trades to try and save his job.
If Adams can pry Vatrano from Ana that would add a top 6 forward. Last year of his contract, doesn't have a no trade clause either. Shouldn't cost the farm either.

Kulich looks better than quin and cozens and they bench him
I believe Cozens is a 1W. Eventually, I’d like to have him up with Tuch and Tager. Reunite Quinn and Peterka to get Quinn going as well. Not now though. The puck is allergic to Cozens right now.

We have our 2C, it's Rasmus Dahlin! Great skater, hands, passer, shooter, rugged, offensive minded and plays meh defensively. We have puck-moving defensive depth, I'd love to see what it would look like.

Cozens hasn't been the same since got his ass handed to him in that fight v Philly early last season. That seemed to knock him down a peg or 2 and along with the concussion he's struggled to regain that swagger he found in 22-23. He's like Maverick in Top Gun after Goose died.

Dylan Cozens and the Sabres planned on him being an exceptional 2nd line Center for a long time, but like they say, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the Mouth”, and that’s EXACTLY what happened here!
We’ve talked about it before and Dylan’s game has massively gone downhill after his face had gotten Smashed! I don’t know if they have or not, but they either need to put him on a couch with a professional to work through this thing, or put him on the ice with Rob Ray to learn to defend himself or gain some confidence out there so he’s not playing scared hockey!
He’s a fantastic player, we’ve all seen it, but he has got to find a way to move past this and start believing in himself!
Can the Sabres make any trades?
That is why we still need two way contracts, if Cozens doesn't come around soon, send him down and make him WORK his way back to be worth the 7 mil he got for 7 years. Too long of a contract
In hindsight, now what? Fire Kevyn Adams! The guy is a complete idiot.
This reflects poorly on Adams. Adams trades Mitts because he has his 2C in Cozens. This season we see Mitts excelling in the 2C and on the PP while Cozens loses his role after 9 games. Team is stuck with an overpaid winger at 7.1M per year while Colorado has a legit 2C at 5.7 per year. All while Adams has cap space to cover both. A just a massive failure of hockey management by Adams.
i miss the cozens, peterka, quinn line
You are really overthinking this Cozens thing. He is moving to the wing..big whoop. He is a centre, moved to the wing for a few games. This shouldn't even be talked about this much.
I never really liked the Mittelstadt trade. I felt like he was just starting to break out, and we dump him off for an unnecessary defenseman. Unfortunately they decided on signing Cozens to a long-term contract after one breakout season instead, so they were somewhat handcuffed to offloading Mitts instead of Cozens.
The Long term effects of Cozens going to the wing is he may be only a Winger in the NHL and not a center. Which means to have an issue at center or at least a issue for a couple years at center. If Cozens is a winger however puts up numbers that pays for his contact you are good and you can trade Cozens later on for value if he is at or above the production for his contact.
The Sabres still have Östlund, Wahlberg and Helenius in the pipeline that long term may be their 2nd line center. However this we will not know for at least 2 years. However we can for a stop gap use McCloud and Krebs has 2C and 3C for now. Giving these 3 prospects a chance to develop and maybe get a cup of coffee in the NHL when Injuries happen.
Also Kulich might be a center long term and he is playing good now. However I do agree with Ruff have the kid sit some games and play some games. Throw him into the deep end a couple of times for experience but do not overwhelm him.
I wouldnt Play Kulich over Quinn because I think Quinn's issue is due to lack of playing last year and his body needs time to get into game speed because he didnt get many games in last year. Now I do think he needs to play on the 3rd line. I would rotate Kulich into games though.
If this doesn't work, send him to Rochester. If some team is dumb enough to take his contract on waivers, so be it
