Detroit needed to come into the United Center and take care of business against an inferior opponent and they did, beating the Blackhawks. It was a slow start to the game, but Detroit struck first thanks to a DeBrincat goal late in the 1st. After that Larkin, Veleno and Copp netted goals to help carry the Red Wings to a 4-1 victory. Cam Talbot was as steady as ever. #LGRW

Larkin and Debrincat look great together this year. Cat could have scored 4 tonight. I think we need more out of our 3rd line though. Kasper still only has 1 point and that was in his first game of the season. Berger only has 1 assist. And senko only has 2 goals. If we can get that third line going a little, this could be a dangerous team
Slow start is their mantra. In 12 games, they have only had one solid first period. Maybe you could discuss why that is happening over and over.
The more I watch Kasper the more I like him. I like his tenacity.I like his speed, I like his skill and I like his positional defensive play. I would really like to see a way if we could try to work him onto the second pairing somehow. I'd like to see him on the pair with Raymond and his speed and skill. Perhaps move him to the wing even. Or move Compher or Copp up or down or to the wing. I would just like to have the coach experiment with different combos in practice and see what looks the best. Try to think out of the box. Maybe he would click with Raymond or Kane, etc. Maybe he could center Kane and Debrinkat on #2 line. ????? Any suggestions would be interesting. I'd like to hear some ideas from you all.
TWO second line combos I was thinking of are the easy ones:

#3- VT Compher Berg

My reasoning for the below line experiments would be to add some added skill, tenacity and speed to the 2nd pairing, to hopefully result in more goals ! See below.

the goal Chicago did score was against Chiarot and Petry pairing. Chiarot getting out played in a board battle. then Petry just being oblivious to the guy out front and pass going between his legs.
With ya on Petry and the second pair. What does it take for Petry to be a healthy scratch?
Good analyses guys, Scotty I don't think we have any hope of our second d-line changing until next year when Petry comes off the books. I can not see any team taking on Holl or Petry's contract.
Ed and Kasper only going to get better
Everybody but Petry was doing ok or better. DRW need to trade him or put in on waivers. Call up ASP from SHL, he is potentiella a new Hughs or Makar. ASP has 14p in 17 games leading his team in points. +5 goals in the +/- stats.
Every time I see Petry out there, I cover at least one eye. He is just such a liability. AlJo was fantastic last night, he is just SO good. Still getting his feet and mind right for NHL speed but he is solid. And Gus I thought looked really good, like he’s finding his groove and confidence with the system (whatever that might be ::rolls eyes::)
Petry and chariot stay together due to coaching at the end of the day.
Petry is just a mess most games.

The failed second pair sticking together this long says a lot about the bottom pair (and the scratch).
Stop touting how the third line is Soooo close. Sometimes if you get in position and don’t score it’s because you don’t have or haven’t developed the scoring touch/talent at the NHL level… effort alone will not do it against these NHL goalies. When they actually score a goal… or three, I’ll start to believe.
Scot & Brian image if you were paired with Petry you would be exhausted trying to cover for him. Great play by Ben on a 2 on one taking away the pass. Good play by Todd B cutting off Ben C and grabbing his stick. (other teams get away with this as well as high sticking Moe S.) Ben still had him on the outside. However Todd missed the pylon and Talbot made a save with no help by Petry, then the Hawks scored. Scot, the other d-men except for Moe S wouldn't be able to cover for Petry, Ben has had that tall assignment.
There is no Yzer-plan. I would like to believe he wants Petry replaced by Axel SP as soon as possible, but Nick L and Nick K are blocking this to happen. Great play by Larkin if you noticed, very Connor Mc & Nathan Mc like. They forgot to have 3 guys on him trying to cross check him to death. How dare they let the Wings skate and play a fast game!!! Alex D should have had a hat trick. Need a new center to replace Copp in this parity era. You know if Detroit wins 2 in a row and other teams lose they might move into a wild card spot or top spot in the Atlantic Division. Crazier things have happened!
