  1. Im excited to see the small amount of buzz around the league talking about our boy.

  2. What a time to be a Sharks fan. I’ve been a diehard fan since day 1 when I was 5 years old when the Sharks played their first season 1991-92.

Out of all those years, this truly feels like the most excited I’ve ever felt about our team.
It feels like this young core of uber-talented 1st round draft picks is going to end up being even better than any former team the Sharks have manifested. Celebrini feels like he might equal or even exceed Joe Thornton’s greatness. Will Smith feels like he might mimic Patty Marleau’s success, eventually. Eklund & Musty feel like they might match Hertl & Meier’s skill & production. Dickinson, Muk, & Cagnoni etc feel like they might match Burns’, and to a lesser extent Eric Karlsson’s contributions. And Askarov looks like he might end up being the best goaltender the Sharks have ever had.. with all our best teams who contended in the playoffs, it always seemed like all we were missing to get that damn cup was a hot goaltender who took over a playoff series or 2 and caught fire at the right time to shut down teams like those stupid penguins in our only finals appearance. Askarov is the highest ever goalie draft pick we’ve ever had, and it looks like he’s a can’t miss prospect. It feels like he’s going to definitely reach an incredibly high potential that eventually out-does even the great Nabokov.

It’s really exciting to think that in the next 5 years or so, this is looking like it might be the best Sharks team ever, which is saying a lot considering all those incredible past Sharks players I listed.

It makes me salivate fantasizing about Musty-Celebrini-Martone lines, Smith-Eklund-Hagens lines, etc etc.

Porter Martone is the absolute perfect player that would fit in perfectly with this young core right now. 6’3” 200lb right shot RW highly skilled power forward that can play physical and help protect our top skilled guys like Celebrini, Smith, & Eklund, who are all just a smidge undersized for locked in 1st liners.
I really*, *really hope we can snag Martone this draft 🙏

Mike Grier might end up going down as the best Shark ever by the time he’s done. Loved him as a player, and he’s freakin crushing it as GM in his young FO career so far.
This team has the feel of a dynasty coming on. Our first ever Stanley Cup might come as a package deal, it’s really feeling like we might pull some crazy stuff off like what the SF Giants did and win multiple championships in a 5+ year span!
mmmmm makes me salivate 🤤 lol

  3. This does seem to be a franchise changing time for the Sharks. The past few years have been sad and difficult, but now we’re starting to see the turnaround. Hopefully we do get another special player or two in this year’s draft (Martone?) before we start losing out on those top end draft kids due to increasingly better Shark team performance year over year.

  4. He's pretty good at D already, but imagine if he gets good at PK. Imagine C. harassing the points and cutting off cross passes at the blue line – he'd be a terror; misplay the puck and he's flat out gone with no chance of catching up. His mere presence there would force mediocre plays.
