Lalonde needs to stop fucking around with stupid line combinations. It's obvious who the best players are, they should be linemates. Kane needs some youthful energy on his line. Johansson has been good almost every time he plays, and he and Chiarot can both play on the right side.
But he also needs to realize that he won't have this job if he doesn't change the way this team plays hockey. This system just isn't conducive to winning. Rimming it around the boards and hoping you have a teammate there to clear the puck from the defensive zone is trash. Skating around the perimeter, cycling the puck for 30 seconds without a shot on goal and then struggling to get into the offensive zone for the next 7 minutes is terrible. This shit doesn't work. Change it or leave.
I’m only checking in now to support you guys. I’ve seen enough from this team. Until Yzerman wakes up…Illitch takes the cuffs off… or there’s a change, I’m not watching another game until then. Zero excuses

two things both Wings fans and Lalonde are in deep total denial about about the lineups:
1. Larkin Cat Kane is a very effective top line, reliably. The team's MOST effective realistic top line combo, by a lot. They give up virtually nothing, and they score as well as or better than literally any other line combo the team has tried the last two years. It gets the most out of every member of the line in a way no other combo involving any of them does. This line is winning 17-7 together over the past 2 years in 16 or 17 games. 3-1 this year in 6 games, w the only goal allowed being a random shift together in the middle of a game.
2. Raymond and Larkin are not effective together. They give up easy goals and chances and play a haphazard offensive style even when going well. They have no chemistry and their skills and styles do not complement each other well. And this is the case whoever the other wing is. They are -3 together at 5v5 this year and have lost 2/3 overtimes in which they've been on the ice when the game ended. Over the past 2 years they are either tied or -1 at 5v5 when together. These are supposed to be your 2 best players, they play together all the time, and the opponent is winning when they are on the ice. That is unacceptable.
Thanks for the podcasts, gentlemen. Each of these past two season, I had to decide which of two Detroit teams I'd focus on at this time of year, the Pistons or the Wings. I've given up on the Wings and gone back to watching three teams in the division, the Panthers, the Lightning, and the Bruins. The Wings just aren't worth it.
I think Raymond is a great player, but I have no idea why he crossed over on that three and two at the end of the game and turn the puck over
It's the system/goaltending, like how do they get outshot just about every game. The PK C'mon man…I agree w/ @darkphoenix2 makes some really good points (love the name, big X-Men fan). Bob Boughner is terrible. No IDEA how he became a head coach just as miffed about the Wings bringing him aboard. He's responsible for the PK and we see how that's going….SMH LGRW

I have totally lost any interest in this Wings' season. I feel absolutely no desire from the GM or owner to give the fans a good product. They couldn't care less so I don't care about the team anymore either. The best they can do from now is tank. Trade everyone who has any value, except the core.
Keep Lalonde, he sucks. It will help the team finish as low as possible. Maybe we can win the lottery for once. I think the only team right now that is worst than the Wings is Chicago and they might get better than us with a new head coach. So, just sell what you can and play all those overpaid and washed up vets. They suck so much that it'll maybe a blessing in disguise.
I'm a lunatic, so I will spend hours very day saying Lucas Raymond is the reason the Wings suck. Please play 37 yr old more because their best forward SUCKS!
I haven't thrown Lalonde under the bus 'til this point but now… We shouldn't be this bad, something is holding the offensive back and I guess it is the tactics, not saying it will save this team but… As soon as I got the game on – 10 seconds, Senators score🙀 (watching from Sweden), falling asleep and waking up in the third and DeBrincat scores in the pp. Actually getting my hopes up as the pk "works" and the last 2 minutes starts with uncontrollable waves back and forth ends with another disappointment.

They're hard to watch now, especially since these losses have been so close. We're missing the spark that allowed them to win these tight games last season. Hopefully Yzerman can make a few moves soon to get the team back on track before it's too late.

As someone who always try’s to look on the bright side and keep optimistic about this team… I think tonight’s game broke me. This simply isn’t a good team and they’re also not fun to watch. A couple bad calls by the refs, but the PK actually wasn’t the problem for once. They just can’t score. This offensive system is a joke. This team is actually talented and fast but they try to win games 2-1 every night and it just makes no sense. Whatever
Lalondes system at work again. They couldn’t care less to be out there wearing the winged wheel. Half of the team doesn’t give a damn, they’re just collecting a paycheck. I take that so personally as a fan. I just don’t understand how you can take such a large step backwards. This team is a bunch of no heart, passionless, participation trophy LOSERS. The “difference maker” is 5v5 scoring. Which falls on Lalondes putrid system.
The losing to bad teams by one goal makes you a bad team! Seider and Ed looked like they weren't modivated.

Only demoralizing if you are expected to win. This team/organizatiion of clowns are not expected to win, so what do you expect to happen. Just horse-hockey from the top to bottom.
Can we agree that Copp and Compher are not the right guys for our team, or at least for this system. We're paying them more than $10m combined and they've got 0 goals in the past 15 games….. Neither of them are big scorers at the best of times and if they are being deployed as shut down centres, they aren't very good at that. The roster has been badly managed.
I thought this game would be chippy with a few scrums. No the way Detroit tip toed around the outside making it easy on Ullmark. At least Husso wasn't a sieve he was decent and kept them in.
In all my time watching Red Wing hockey, I've never seen a softer bunch wearing the the Winged Wheel.

23:55 I said the same thing to a sens fan last night. Just because we killed all 5 penalties and none of their goals were pp goals, does not mean it didn’t have a negative impact on the game! When you’re down a man you are defensive minded. Because of the lack of calls our way we spent 1/6 of the game not even focused on offense. That’s a big deal
