I'm so tired of watching Reaves injure player after player. His only plan for his hits is to HURT someone. He's a constant repeating danger and I'm so sick of him and other repeat offenders with no regard for the health and safety of their fellow players being allowed to step on the ice time and time again while another guy's body and livelihood are damaged and jeopardized.
Reaves was hustled off the ice almost immediately so its not like there was much time for anyone to do anything. Having said that, the only person on that Oilers team.that would have the guts to go after Reaves is Darnell Nurse so there you go.
I love tough, hard hitting hockey. But the league sucks at making the rules clear on head shots. “Principal point of contact” is a horrible standard. Players wear weapons on their shoulders and elbows nowadays. Grazing someone’s shoulder on your way to a head shot is a joke.
Here’s a very simple, straightforward standard for hits: -The hitter must adjust the height/level of his hit to make contact with “hittee’s” shoulder or chest. If the hitter is unable to lower his hit to the height/level of opponents shoulder/chest and as a result makes head or chin contact, it’s an illegal hit.
This solves the problem and is a clear, easy to understand and enforce standard that will keep hitting in the game (as it should be), and prevent brain damage. What is crucial is that the hitter must bend his knees or lower his body for the hit.
New Rule: The player who delivers the injury in a case like this has to play for the other team (while still being paid by their home team) until the injured player is back to full health. Either that or he is benched until Nurse returns.

Keep your pathetic head up, this sport has gotten so damn soft that guys literally never look up while playing….fyi, I hate the laughs, as much as I hate how soft everything has gotten….gotten so soft that no all the pathetic chumps just backed off and let their guy get ran over. They just bent over and took it like the soft betas they are. Non of em could have played 20 years ago, they would cry.
Nurse is the biggest baby in the league. $9 mill a year to be a fucking rag doll. He gets belted every week like this because he constantly has his fucking head down like a child

I’m not a leafs or oilers fan but reaves is a repeat offender and should get a heavy suspension or just eject him from the league.
