GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Canadiens (11.02.24) | Crosby’s Goal-Scoring Stays Hot

The Penguins welcomed the Montreal Canadiens to Pittsburgh tonight in the home team’s final game before heading out on the road next week. Kris Letang appeared in his 1,100th regular-season game tonight. Letang is the first Penguins defenseman to accomplish this milestone, and just the sixth active blueliner to reach 1,100 games. Letang also became just the 13th defenseman to play 1,100 games with one team. Captain Sidney Crosby scored the lone goal of the opening period, wiring a wrist shot high past Montreal netminder Montembeault. That goal by Crosby stood as the only goal of the game… until he earned his second of the game late in the 2nd period. Crosby let a shot go from between the circles, and extended the home team’s lead. Dvorak got one back for Montreal in the 3rd period, but it was Blake Lizotte who would wrap up the scoring for the evening, scoring his first goal as a member of the Penguins into the empty net.

  1. Here's a crazy idea fellow fans… when a guy is at the blue line with his back to goal receiving a pass…it might not be a good time to scream shoot in my ear.

  2. I enjoy Sid highlights. Lovin' the empty netter by Lizotte.
    Crosby: 13GP/5G/9A/14Pts
    Malkin: 13GP/3G/11A/14Pts

  3. This might be illegal to say on this site: but Graves beating up Struble at the end of the game was great to see – first time i've seen Ryan Graves show a pulse since he became a Penguin.

  4. Great win. But, Enough is enough. Let’s get a new voice in the locker room and trade Jarry for a decent player if you can
