NHL Referee Mitch Dunning Stretchered Off Ice After Collision with Colorado’s Josh Manson



November 18, 2024: Referee Mitch Dunning was taken off the ice on a stretcher after a collision with Colorado Avalanche defenseman Josh Manson.

The official was unintentionally clipped by Manson while the two were skating near the blueline.  Dunning hit the ice hard and remained motionless.  Both teams’ medical crews attended to Dunning, ultimately removing him from the ice on a stretcher.

  1. ‘It doesn’t look that bad’ until you realize he got rocked by a guy twice his size and seemed to land on his spine.

  2. Ref paid the price when he creeped into the Danger Zone. Had he been between the f/o dot & the boards this could've been avoided

  3. NHL refs are just so awful these days. No reason for him to be standing there.

  4. I know someone that fell off a motorcycle at a red light and broke several ribs. 0 mph. A bad fall can be very serious

  5. Falling on the ice is dangerous regardless of speed. Usually means broken bones or sprains.
