imagine if we had a full team bro… hopefully Demko comes back… hes soo important… no matter who we have back… but the most important is Demko… U need a goalie like him that can steal games for u when the team gets outplayed… When on his game to me he's a top 3 goalie…. Helly is still number 1 unfortunately… but once Demko is back thats when I start getting excited…
Trev I’m gonna double down on this..Pettersson is the smartest player on the ice next to Hughes and then Suter, allow me to explain why, I’ll indulge you.
For starters, Quinn doesn’t take a face off in his life and doesn’t play centre, or a two way game like Petey. Petey faces off against #1 centres all game long. Ya gotta be smart to do that, Quinn could never do any of that as it’s not his stature. Both Petey and Suter can do better. I’ve never seen Quinn lay out to block shots like Petey and Suter. I’ve never seen Quinn stack the pads like a goalie down low to save a goal like Petey. Did you know Petey even played goalie growing up? Where Quinn is great is in his skating, and while that’s all well and good, that’s not high hockey IQ, that’s a physical specimen in being brilliant and skating – they are different things so don’t get them confused. Petey can also play the reverse hit, he practically invented it to protect one’s body, that is smart, I don’t see Quinn doing a reverse hit ever, I usually see him taking the hit not giving it. Quinn takes hits unnecessarily, something he needs to work on. Pettersson is the smartest player on the ice….you don’t see Hughes setting up De Brusk lately do ya. Now Petey isn’t the best player on the ice, that is Hughes, but that is not my point, it’s about being cerebral. Suter is definitely up there too. Very underrated. The most underrated. JT is in no regard near those 3 players. He’ll cost us penalties and piss off his teammates. Tell me how in anyway that is smart. Well you can’t as JT is not a very smart player. JT is a warrior and we need him to be just that. We need a plethora of balance on this team to have ultimate success. It doesn’t work if you have a team full of JT’s or Petey’s. Just like you can’t have a team full of Quintins, it just wouldn’t work. Again, balance is key and I think this management has got a lot of those pieces up and down the lineup. Look at players like Sherwood, Blueger and Juulsen for instance, they all have their place. Pettersson is the smartest player on the ice and I’ve seen him do this for years now, subtle things that I’ve never seen anyone do before, but one would have to watch closely to notice, where as Quinn, it’s all a spectacle, a show on ice. Again, completely different players. I bet if you asked Quinn who the smartest player was he’d say Elias. And if you asked Elias he’d say Puis.
Minnesota is top tier in the league. When's the last time Canucks outshot any team in 3rd period 17-9.
this game felt like a playoff game.. the game got physical and intense. The one thing we were missing was a deterrent when Wild players were taking liberties.. Sherwood hit and Eriksson Ek. There was no response. We need that edge and ZADOROV back!!!!
