The problem with the trade is you gave up a 1 round pick for a 3 rd 6th and a journeyman D who sounds like he’s not gonna play,,, I would of rather trade him for a prospect that you like that’s not working out with another team , than lose big value that way! Example Avs pick up Graves from Rangers for Bigras (both high picks) , and there many other examples,,,
28:48 this is so true and is actually why I prefer Willy over Mitch. Willy is fine with tough coaching and it seems Mitch has to be treated with kid gloves. Cant say what happens behind the scenes but from the public view, thays what it seems.

You all need to watch a Caps game. PLD has been significantly more helpful than his points suggest. That 2nd line of PLD, McMichael, and Wilson is meshing so well. They are rotating Lindgren and Thompson in goal every game and it's not causing any issues. Outside of Lapierre, the team is playing well which is pretty much the opposite of last season.

As a Caps fan, I felt like I was taking crazy pills the way people were all saying we'd be trash before the season started. I swear people just looked at PLD, hated him, and then didn't bother looking at anything else.

1:34:08 "They're losing the same way they've been losing last year, why has this become unacceptable?" It's because they don't. Between last year and this year, health has been a major factor in favor of this year. Yet they lose WORSE than last year. No they don't blow leads. They never have them. In two weeks we've been shelled 7-2 by the Rangers, 8-2 by the Kraken and then 6-3 by the Capitals. For the sake of discussion let's add the 4-3 win Montreal had against the Flyers. They all have one theme in common: back-to-back quick goals. 5 friggin' times in these 4 games alone!! Including TWICE against the Caps!! Here's the difference between last year and this year, and why this is unacceptable NOW: last year we lost games because there were SOOOO many injuries. This year we lose games because the guys on the ice don't put any effort. It is GUTTING to watch. If they played to their full potential they'd be "in the mix" which everybody in upper management keep harping on about. But we're far from that just on the fact that the guys in red on the ice seem lazy in all the small details, and it's far more disgusting to watch than even all the losses from last year.

Caps diehard here. Jessie Blake is right, the caps have tilted the ice in almost every game. Recent injuries hurt against the hurricanes, but the team defense and the center depth has been dominating.
