Is this the worst NHL take of all time?

Coming into last nights New York Rangers vs New Jersey Devils matchup, Jack Hughes had the 2nd most goals of any active player against Igor Shesterkin. However, after what was an absolute pounding the Devils laid on the Rangers at MSG, Hughes is now at 9 to take the first spot. That isn’t really what everyone in the hockey world is talking about though. It’s Steve Valiquette, Rangers hockey analyst. During the first intermission of the game, after Hughes had attempted a Forsberg move on Shesterkin, Valiquette stated Hughes was attempting to embarrass Shesterkin and the Rangers by trying to score playing “instagram hockey”. It was immediately picked up and ran with by the hockey community as what could be the worst NHL take of all time considering Vladimir Tarasenko scored a Forsberg goal in MSG not 2 years ago wearing a Rangers sweater. I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. What does Valiquete even mean? A player’s job is to score. Period. Even if that mean’s embarrassing the goalie. Who wouldn’t want to embarrass the opponent’s goalie?

  2. Jack Hughes… what a piece of shit. How dare he try to score a goal in a hockey game, especially in a hockey game where the two teams are long time rivals? He ought to be suspended the rest of the season for that treachery.

  3. Wondering why Steve doesn't know it's Jack's job to try to embarrass the opposition goalie. This guy has some kind of vendetta against Jack, ever since his draft year

  4. "That would never happen in a game. When was the last time you saw somebody Forsberg move? In a game?"

I'm pretty sure a guy literally named Forsberg did it earlier this season

  5. Oh my lord, the whole US media seems to be bunch of whining mongoloids!🤤 Always need to have a strong opinion, no matter of content. People should just shut up and listen more, that's how you learn…

  6. so I am a ranger fan and thought valiqettes comment was ridiculous. Hughes is a great player going against Shesty who is also great. Both did their thing and it was what it was. if Valiquette had a clue he would know that once Hughes got the puck and was heading in on that breakaway, there is not much time for thought. He didnt think to himself, "im going to embarrass this guy". That is ludicrous lol. He assessed the situation and made his move that he thought he could pull off and score. Valiquette is not my favorite and this is a prime reason why.

  7. ROFL. Are you kidding me? I can see the ruile change coming… no more breakaways because it's embarrassing and disrepectful to the opponent's goalie. Double minor!

  8. Long time watcher first time commenting on here, I feel like these old heads just don’t want to give these young guys the respect for elevating the game to being more skilled less goony. But a blazing hot take for sure!

  9. I think exactly as Jack does, what does mean, that whole in my day thing is ridiculous, Jack's attempt at decking the goalie was just that, a deke, that guys trying to instigate something that's not even there. Jack's a class act.
