Well it was only a matter of time that the Leafs would find a home for Timothy Liljegren and the San Jose Sharks are that team!! The Buds acquire D-Man Matt Benning, a 2025 conditional 3rd Round pick and a 2026 6th Round Pick!! What are your thoughts on the deal??

Great trade lucky they got what they did for him as there 8th defenceman that makes 3 million
I'm gonna miss that he's 20 years younger than me and looks 5 years older than me. Jk Lilijgren just needed a fresh start where he's free to find his game
I mean, as that Sharks fan, it's really just the fact that we can eat the cap hit for Liljegren since we aren't in a money crunch and hope for the best. Toronto is obviously in win now mode, and both that roster spot and the $3 million cap hit are more valuable than Liljegren right now when you have guys like Dewer, Järnkrok, and Hakanpää that will eventually come back and have more value to winning this season. Matt Benning is just an 8th D-man, basically an expensive next-to-nothing guy, but still cheaper than Liljegren, but in taking that back you get a 3rd and a 6th, which is slightly more than I would have expected, but the Sharks have tons of picks and are going to take a gamble on a guy that probably doesn't work out, but isn't going to hinder us moving forward, on the small chance he figures it out, awesome, if not, he's a warm body and we still need those.
Dubas gave up a 1st to get rid of Patrick Marleau or getting rid of 1 year at 6 million.
So where do we go from here?
