  2. If flyers 1st round pick impress flyers coaches should he get contract for royals or phantoms

I miss seeing flyers get first round pick ready for nhl now or ahl ready now

  3. A couple notes about Provorov and (consistently) the best defenseman on earth, Victor Hedman:

    — Hedman did not reach the height of his otherworldly powers until he was 27. And that was on a good team with great coaching and a good general situation.

    — Provorov is still only 25 and has two seasons to reach his full potential if you follow the Hedman timeline. Which also held true for defenseman like Jacob Slavin and Roman Josi.

    — Victor Hedman didn't start averaging 25 minutes a night until he was 27-28.

    — Provorov has been doing it since he was 21.

Here's just the simple truth of the matter: we rushed Provorov. We threw him right to the wolves, and now he's gotta figure out how to play at that top-top level younger than nearly all of his contemporaries. Only really Cale Makar took on as much responsibility as young as Provorov. They're different defenseman, but the responsibility is the same.

And Colorado was a GOOD TEAM who was ironically "a Cale Makar away" from being competitive.

But even Makar didn't fully realize his potential until this year, when they brought in checks notes Norris Trophy caliber defensive partner Devon Towes.

Similar to Carter Hart, people aren't realizing how young Provorov is and just how rushed into things he was. Carter Hart won the starter's job when he was 21 ffs. Vasilevsky was 25 when he was ready for that burden. Jake Oettinger just took that role for Dallas, and he's Carter Hart's age NOW.

They're taking developmental lumps in the NHL whereas most prospects take them at lower levels or in lower pressure environments.

And we made the situation harder for them by being absolute garbage of late.

  4. Additional thought about Tony DeAngelo:

He was expendable in New York. As soon as he was gone, they had some guy by the name of Adam Fox to bring in. Adam Fox, the guy who basically forced his way to New York out of the draft.

No team is gonna pay TDA and Adam Fox both. They're redundant assets. So who's the odd man out?

The guy who forced his way into playing for your team, or the guy who got in a sniping match with a goalie?

  5. Met Tony D in person and I totally dig his vibe! He's going to kick ASS as a Flyer! We need more grit on the ice, this is hockey for fucks sake!
