Firing Jim Montgomery Won’t Fix The Bruins Issues
On Tuesday’s edition of Zolak and Bertrand, the guys reacted to the Bruins 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets. While discussing the changes that need to be made to the organization, Bertrand made the case that although the franchise will start by firing the coach, the issues with the team are a lot larger than that.

Record numbers 65/12/5 2022 to a firing 2024. The door always remains close in the NHL.
Don’t poke the bear…Well the bear got poked!
Bring back Bruce Shoebottom for defense!
Sweeney/Neeley need to be booted. The signings and trading of draft picks over the past several years have been awfully disappointing. Should have not traded Ullmark till Swayman was signed. The non signing of Swayman during the summer and Neeleys dig on him.
Get rid of Sweeney. His botching the ullmark trade/Swayman deal an and the 2015 draft are among his awful moves, not to mention signing linholm etc.
We don't need him being in charge of trading away a guy like marchy at the deadline nor do we want him drafting high in the 1st round
It's gonna be a long season.hope they just make playoffs.and see what happens
Organizational Management is the top issue for the failure.
Monty is not the problem, Time will expose all
Bruins are too good to be this bad. I think the players will wake them up and they will be back to dominating this year.
Shoulda' been Sweeney.
He's been setting up this fail for years.
Jim will be fine…great coach.
Whatever. Go Bruins.
First and foremost The B’s never should’ve traded Ullmark. They need to stop with the constant passing in the offensive zone especially on the power play. Were getting penalized frequently and once to often with to many men on the ice. our PK is shitty.
How about the GM-he put the talent on this roster. Talk about BB drafting-the GM record is poorer than BB. Wasted so many high draft picks, with little or no results.
If they have a high draft pick, do you have confidence that they can pick the right player. I don't. GM must have pictures on owner. Or owner does not want to pay two GM's salaries. Pathetic.
Not even a Boston fan but this was a quick trigger. Its not the coaches fault that forward group scares NO ONE… Even with Pasta
Cam and Don are the problem. I hope the Jacobs realize this soon. Long term and overpaid contracts are hurting this team . I think another problem with this organization is they wont let it go that Bergeron and Krecji are not here.
Fire Sweeney and Neely! Been thinking it and saying it for years.
Columbus BLEW away the Bruins. Maybe, the Bruins BLOW!!!!!!!
Pasta has no heart and no grit!
Every time the bruins crap themselves they fire the coach. Its time for new owners and new front office. The teams a hundred years old they should have at least 10 to 18 cups. Whats next another 35 years for another cup?
"aging roster" how clueless is this panel? They're the 12th youngest team and only have 2 core players over 30 (Coyle/Marchand)
Firing Monty and Keeping Sweeney is like shitting your pants and changing your shirt!
There terrible defense is week. Mcavoy overrated decent on offense noooo defense at all always out of position gives up on off the defense doesn’t have s clue everybody out of position.
Just another scapegoat for Sweeney and Neely. Those 2 are the problem, they need to go. About 2 years ago. Monty didn't sign the 2 players to massive overpays of $84 million between the 2. 1 sits in the box all night and the other cant produce a damn thing other than winning a faceoff. Cassidy should have never been fired, Monty teaches a fast paced skilled method of hockey.. and Sweeney and Neely gave him the complete opposite of a roster… big slow and lacking skill with the hands.
Firing coach won't helpSweeney and Neeley have chosen a bunch of offensively challenged 3rd and 4th line forwards….slugs, poor skaters, slow, poor passers. The NHL speed and finesse has passed them by.
tell the guy on the left to visit the salad bar
Boston needs to build out the program. Replace Bergeron and others that have retired. Another Top 2 and a Top 6 center will make them competitive.
