The Jets set an NHL record today with their 14th win in their first 15 games. Their upcoming schedule will be tough, though.

  1. The Jets are the real deal….they will lose some games…this is not a flash in the pan….much respect to them!

  2. Every jets player is unselfishly bought in to doing what is best for the team. Bucky and Sheifs both forgo free agency last year. Other talented players could get more money in other markets but they stay put. Other more recent additions play and behave like they have landed in a place where they feel they belong. This is one of, if not thee most, unselfish, homogeneous team out there right now. This is all the more satisfying for me as a nonresident fan who jumped the Toronto ship years ago to cheer for Paul Maurice’s team (after Toronto put him through the ringer) seeing Winnipeg being universally reviled as a city players don’t want to be. Winnipeg Jets is a feel good situation that has taken a while to happen but over time I kind of felt it coming. It is a team built without free agents. The players who are there are 100% bought in to being there. They have suffered past hardships and even humiliation as a group and they’re moving forward as one determined to not experience that again.

  3. LEGEND FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! It amazes me how many people want to live in a fantasy world where what this team is doing isn’t impressive… embarrassing. Thank you for making this

  4. The next 4 games are the real tests for the Jets. I would love them to sweep.
    Team depth is very impressive.

  5. You're right, the coming road games are tough and I agree that the past schedule wasn't the hardest so far. And yes, the Avs dominated the Jets in the third but the matchup against the Stars showed me how good this team is. The Jets don't have to fear anybody. But keep in mind, when the Sens had their 13 win season 2007/08 they ended up with 94 points and I can remember a Canadiens 2015/2016 when they won the first 9 and then did not make the playoffs.

  6. They've proven that they're a contender……… for the President's trophy.
As we all know, that means nothing come play-offs. Once they're in a best of seven series against a set opponent, we know NOTHING and this streak, no matter how long it goes, means nothing. Odds are, they'll get swept against a second wild card Edmonton. But hey, they had this streak 😂😂

  7. Honestly I knew this was coming I kept saying it I knew Jets were different this year I have high hopes and so far

  8. Incredible start. Amazing how many thought they were going to be a fringe team. Fun time for jets fans

  9. Great time to be a WPG sports fan, Jets with the best start in NHL history and Bombers in the Grey Cup for the 5th season in a row

  10. Jets being healthy. A group that likes each other. Team playing with a chip on their shoulders in wanting to win. Which is chemistry and intensity. They aren't perfect. They struggle at times, but they play their hearts out and can compete with any team! Winnipeg Jets are one heck of a hockey team!

  11. Everyone was saying "They haven't beat the harder competition yet, their real compeitition will be against Dallas and Colorado". They beat them then "Well Colorado is injured and Dallas has played not so well lately". People always have a knock.

  12. I'm a Sabres fan, but I started following this team cause I had friends who lived in Manitoba and we would sit on call when the Sabres and Jets played each other. I don't really talk to them anymore but my fondness for the Jets never left. So happy to see how much they're crushing it this year!

  13. “Peaking too soon” is a thing. Injuries (especially guys like Vilardi) are going to happen. Great start to the season and I’m sure they’ll have a real solid entire season. But I’m not sold they’re a cup contender.

  14. A strong back end led by a superstar & future hall of famer in goal and a future Team Canada Dman in Morrissey. The forward group may not have a superstar but they have a very deep group that have shared the scoring.
Cup contenders ok sure, but right now I’d say if they can be healthy when playoff time rolls around they are playing a team game that should/could bring continued surprising results.

  15. I definitely did not see this coming however I will say that the Jets will lose four of the next 10. It's just inevitable that they will lose a few on the road here.

  16. They shit kicked Tampa in Winnipeg already. First it was Tampa Colorado Dallas now it’s like if they can beat eastern teams? wtf.

  17. I like the Jets a lot, I really hope they can redeem themselves in playoffs this year because that was one of the most embarrassing first round exits I saw last year. I really hope you can get revenge on the Avs

  18. As a Jets fan this is definitely fun to watch I just hope and pray they do not get eliminated in the first round again I actually think that is not going to happen this year Helly is too good its like 2012 when Quick carried the Kings to the cup and they were a 8th seed too

  19. No one ever thinks the Jets will do anything, but when they prove them wrong. It’s a fluke… blah blah blah.

They can lose and win, that’s hockey.
Sustainable.. probably not. But that’s the fun thing about this run.

  20. And I didn't hear you mention it, but they are pretty excellent this year, from coming back. They've started down at least 8 games or more by one or two goals and came back in won. Just had to throw that in there because, anything less than the best about my team, is not reality. They are crushing it this year and I don't automatically believe that they will drop below 4 goals again. Many of their key players have hit their prime and are going to ride this beautiful season all the way, and they are tired of getting trash talked Mostly by the media, but behind closed doors by other players and coaches and the stigma that comes with playing in Winnipeg; like oh, nobody wants to play there… Well, these guys do! and they're going to show the league this year.

    GO JETS GO!

    Enjoying the podcast. Thanks, man.

  21. Man, I love the Jets, Oilers my fave team, but Jets my number two. Such a ballsy little outfit and they've always played exciting, fast, hockey. It's often too their detriment defensively, but at least these guy's will never die wondering.
