Man I love midget hockey, I remember getting hit like this dazed and knocked out basically, woke up and my teammate/bestfriend had that guy mangled and bloody then came to grab me, even our goalie was talking shit and about to throw off the gloves with one of them.
Those bitching and moaning that Revo didn’t get more games tells me two things either A you never played Hockey before or B you never played hockey before. He was not going out there to head hunt, play dirty, or end someone’s career. He was finishing a check and was it an illegal hit yes 100% but the speed of the game is so fast it’s hard to think about where your point of contact is going to be. He was not aiming for his head but I think as Nurse moves revo was trying not to catch him in the head and unfortunately it happened shit happens in hockey and this is just one example of that.
I 🙏 he makes a speedy recovery. No one wants to see anyone get injured. 10 years ago that would be a clean hit. Players now a days continue to skate with their heads down (which scares me). I never agreed with putting player safety the hitters responsibility. Go back to taking care of your own safety and this hit would not have happened. Just did a double check, this hit is less bad then the hit from whitecloud on knies. Edit, revo went though, Whitecloud went up and through. I don’t agree that he jumped but he definitely went upward towards the head and then followed through upward after spring loading.
The Oilers are my least favourite NHL team, but still, to see how hard Nurse got hit made me cringe. His head must've been spinning and throbbing. Hopefully he'll be okay. That was a massive hit
Listen to the fans' reaction to the call at 1:40, it's so disgusting to hear them booing. They bother about their team being penalized more than about the opponent player's health. What a classless crowd. I've had a better opinion on hockey fans in Canada.
If and big IF, hockey cares at all about player safety then the answer is simple – adopt soccer's rule – and send the player off. After playing a man down for the rest of the game, teams will have a strong incentive to clean up their acts or have losing seasons.

I love tough, hard hitting hockey. But the league sucks at making the rules clear on head shots. “Principal point of contact” is a horrible standard. Players wear weapons on their shoulders and elbows nowadays. Grazing someone’s shoulder on your way to a head shot is a joke.
Here’s a very simple, straightforward standard for hits: -The hitter must adjust the height/level of his hit to make contact with “hittee’s” shoulder or chest. If the hitter is unable to lower his hit to the height/level of opponents shoulder/chest and as a result makes head or chin contact, it’s an illegal hit.
This solves the problem and is a clear, easy to understand and enforce standard that will keep hitting in the game (as it should be), and prevent brain damage. What is crucial is that the hitter must bend his knees or lower his body for the hit.
I think when a guy like Reaves is throwing his large stature at guys heads, it should be a two hits you’re out. Like out of the league. You cant blame someone for being short and you cant say, “it’s not my fault for being tall”. He knows how to control his body. His clear intent was upper body hit near the head. He didn’t take the puck and body, he aimed for head alone. If he wants to hit guys in the head try boxing or join the UFC

Every time a hard or dirty check lays out a player a fight breaks out. I noticed there were no volunteers with Reeves on the ice.
