My guess is he’s a 13th guy, probably subbing in for Geekie at first. No he’s not a top 6 guy, but he is a guy you can slot in just about anywhere in the lineup if a guy gets hurt or just needs a game to rest. The signing is whatever to me, decent depth piece to add to the team.

I’ve been loudly hating on Johnson since the Bruins started sucking this season.
I never wanted him to play in the Bruins Uniform. With him being signed, he better fucking prove me wrong. “Oh but 17 goals!” Unless he is going to score all those 70 plus goals you are clearly expecting from him, without any help. He is useless to this team.
Healthy scratch. That’s his role on this team. He’s Tufte, he’s Jones.
I’ve been bitching about it since before the season started. We need to give the young guys a chance. Bring up Merkulov, bring up Lysell. Give them a chance to prove they can play in the NHL. As, if we aren’t getting production from our ‘elite 6’ why not? What’s the worst that can happen if we are getting 0 with what exists before we bring up the Providence players? Maybe some chemistry can be built and we start getting better than 0. Wishful thinking, sure. However the Bruins ‘fans’ who claim Johnson is the key to us becoming Stanley Cup Contenders again? Copium. Pure. Fucking. Copium. Now watch. We go on a 8 game winning streak. “We weren’t this good before we signed Johnson! Clearly, this is only because we signed Johnson!” Cope.
Yeaah…i see your point…but the Bruins also have a weird way of turning stat bums into useful assets, especially depth guys…I mean Kastelic is a prime example. BUT Max Jones is a good example of someone who wasn’t great and certainly still is not great, so who tf knows
I think you’re right. If anyone that he mocks out it is Geekie. If he plays well great if not. He’s there for injury. At least in preseason and camp he looked decent but that doesn’t mean anything going into full games.
Bruins are pretty good with vet reclamation projects over the last like 5 years or so excluding a few people. They'll at least help him get back to something manageable for a bottom 6 forward that can switch with Geekie depending on what teams the B's might face to fit the structure dynamic more.
Well….i watched him in Spokane, he was good. Watched him w with Tampa bay, he was good. Watched him with Chicago, he was okay. I don’t expect him to play to his Tampa days, soooooo…… We’ll see.

Here's hoping it works out well. As all Bruins fans know, the first few weeks of the season have been largely disappointing. Two consecutive shutouts (against teams that they SHOULD beat) is a start; let's see what happens vs. the Leafs tonight… 🤞🤞🤞
