Alexis Lafrenière has signed a seven-year, $52.15 million contract extension with the New York Rangers. This deal, with an annual average value of $7.45 million, will begin in the 2025-26 season. Lafrenière, the first overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, showed significant improvement in the 2023-24 season, recording 28 goals and 57 points, and continued to excel in the 2024 playoffs. At just 23 years old, he’s proving to be a key player for the Rangers’ future success.

Absolutley agree with your video, and i wonder how he can be kinda overlooked. That`s a great deal for the Rangers, and this deal will age well. Not even 7,5m for a close to 60 pts. guy without a lot of PP? Steal. He will stash 30G 30A easy if he gets a bit more PP1 time.
The Rangers cap table looks clean, there`s not a single contract that you can say is really bad. Maybe Trouba is a bit to expensive for what he plays, and there will be magic needed to get Shesterkin and Miller signed. Kakko is a bit an enigma.
But the core looks really dangerous, and the Rangers should win a cup in the next few years.

Not a Rangers fan per se (although they have the best goal song/chant in the league imo) but I am definitely cheering for Lafreniere.
Ive gotten into so many arguments with people who called him a bust over the years. Feels good to be vindicated

Laffy is good, he did not jump out of the gate but he is getting much better every year. His fantasy stats looks great too

Last year they put Lafreniere with Trochek and Panarin. Trochek had a career year. Panarin had a career year. They still can’t t seem to find a way to move him to the top power play. After a 2 for 15 performance on the power play against Florida in the playoffs last year it is time to, try something new. Lafreniere should be a 100 point a year guy.
Great deal, hopefully he can keep up his level of production, but he showed last year and this year that he is a top 6 forward.
