Boston Bruins Trade Rumors…Are They Real?
The Boston Bruins are struggling to win hockey games and with that come trade rumors surrounding their players.
Brad Marchand and Trent Frederic are both on expiring contracts, so naturally, their names come up in rumors.
I decided to do some digging to see where these rumours came from and whether they were even valid.

The captain is absolutely the guy you don’t trade . Marchy is intense ,on his worst day he tries harder than anyone else on the bench . Trent as much as I like this guy is replaceable , but so are Zadorov and a handful of others who should be gone .

I am of the opinion that Brad Marchand will retire a Bruin, whenever he decides to retire. I could see him going into the coaching/management ranks as well when he does retire. What he does over and above his positional/captains duties is immeasurable. I do believe if you cut off his arm he'd bleed Gold & Black !
My Winnipeg Jets would LOVE to have someone like Frederic. I would LOVE to have either Frederic or Cozens out of BUF to center the Jets 2nd line. The Jets NEED grit, someone who can fight, put up a few points and has some size and speed. Those 2 players are ideal for WPG.
The problem. The Bruins do not have the cap space to bring in a top 6 Forward. As much as I would love the Bruins to trade Coyle, it is not very likely. Reason, What team would want to trade for a player making 5.25 million a year who has averaged 15 goals a season for the last 5 seasons. Unless you package him with assets like they had to do with Backus a couple of years back. Maybe that is why the Bruins were showcasing Merkulov for a couple of games, and then send him back down even though he was successful in his three games.
I firmly believe BM63 would rather retire a Bruins before going to another club to finish his career.
Marchy has been a Bruin for his entire career…..he isn't going anywhere.
Way too many media people make smoke where there is no fire in the hope they gamble right and can claim they are an insider to further their career.
Thats not responsible media and most of us fans are sick of these "Throw something at the wall" content trying to mask themselves as legitimate information.
A trade rumor is NOT something you just made up yourself or you saw on reddit.

I don't see them making a move before the trade deadline unless Sweeney feels he has to do something to possibly save his job. That's when teams tend to pay a little more and get a little more desperate. That's the time to shop Freddy and Carlo. But for assets, not more tagalongs. Does everyone get a NMC in their contract now? Crazy!

They are definitely looking for trades but I don't think Marchand would have much of a return, Frederick could at least bring back good assets
