Bears Caleb Williams Not Happy with Lions Jack Campbell for Hit to Knee

via Lions

“didn’t really appreciate the play. He just kind of dove straight at my knee. So I didn’t really get that. Definitely kind of frustrated about that one.”

Bears QB Caleb Williams said with a giant smirk that he “didn’t appreciate” the hit to his left knee from Lions LB Jack Campbell during their Thanksgiving loss to the Lions in Detroit

“Um, knee’s fine,” Williams said without directly answering the question. “Yeah, I — that play was funky. Just put it that way. I don’t really — you know, I didn’t really appreciate the play. He just kind of dove straight at my knee. So I didn’t really get that. Definitely kind of frustrated about that one, just ‘cause you know, whatever. Yeah, knee’s good. Nothing wrong with it. Think I just got a bruise. But the play was — the play was funky.”

  1. Caleb Williams was the dumb a$$ try juke him and Campbell lay him out. It is what it is.

  2. Jack campbells job is to lay this man out, and he tried to get cute and stop so he could get extra yardage, instead of go outta bounds. Campbell made him pay.

  3. If a star QB takes a hit in today's NFL and there is no flag then there is basically no chance it was a dirty hit.

  4. Caleb i think what you meant to say was "it was a clean football play and what my dumbass deserved for pretending to go out of bounds but then deciding not to"

  5. if you don't want tacklers going low then NFL shouldn't disqualify players for incidental helmet contact

  6. He didn't even hit him in the knee he hit him in the waist, QBs just think no one is allowed to hit them anymore

  7. Quarterbacks slide and run out of bounds so as to not get hit. You kept running and challenged Jack Campbell to tackle you – that's the guy's job, Einstein. Sometimes runners get hit in the knees during a tackle. Plus you didn't really get hit in the knee. Duh.

  8. If he dosn't want his legs amputated Williams needs to stop trying to be Mahommes and get out of bounds. Campbell did nothing wrong

  9. i mean if he doesn't hesitate and keeps going forward, campbell hits him square in the stomach. no way to know for sure but i am willing to guess that hit would have hurt much more. you almost went to see Jesus, Caleb Williams. learn from it.

  10. With the soft rules to protect qbs he is right that it's suppose to be a penalty. This is not the 80s and 90s anymore. They protect the qb now a days by babying them whether you like it or not. However, since the NFL wants the Lions in the Super Bowl they'll continue to have favoritism in the Officiating. I expect them to officiate thr Lions and Eagles game poorly since that is probably what's going to be the NFC Championship game. Either way the NFL wants to make sure Lions get in the Super Bowl.

  11. Wahh, wahh… its called football, played hard, so dangerous. You can't handle the heat, get off the field. FOOTBALL IS INHERENTLY DANGEROUS.
