Good game tonight, solid for 60 minutes. Lyon played better, and some good defense to help him out, now let's carry this momentum onto the game against Boston.
I do not understand how Lalonde can see the good in certain things, I genuinely think the line combinations he went with nearly screwed us, and he even changed them mid game, except he just changed them to another weird thing with Motte on the first line. Ridiculous. Berggren was much less noticeable tonight because he was held down by his linemates, he should be playing with other highly skilled players. And play Johansson more, he was better than Gustafsson tonight.
Good effort though. They can probably play better, but at least it was a consistent level of play for all 60 minutes.
Wham blam smackaroo hockey is only going to get you so far. They looked like shit for 55 minutes of this game despite leading in shot totals. Islander had better chances. Idk what's wrong with the rest of these fans in the comment section, but a blind man could tell you he sees how bad this team is, the red wings play such an ugly style of hockey.
It's got to be hard on Lalonde knowing that most of the fanbase wants him fired. That can't be fun. Like, even if he tries to avoid the noise.. he's got to be hearing it. It's unavoidable.
The sentiment has turned on LaLonde. I know I have lost confidence. He seems like a great guy but tactician and game manager.. when was the last time a coach in Detroit made an intermission adjustment that changed the game. It used to happen here regularly,.. but not once since Blash was calling the shots. What we have here now is Blash 2.0 and the longer this drags on the more of a reflection it is on Yzerman.
This is the type of effort we expect to see every night from this team. No matter the outcome you need to see closer games like this being consistently trying and not laying back. Lyon had a solid bounce back and the 5v5 capitalized when the pp didn't. More of this please.
Wooo! We didn’t lose on Datsyuk night 😅😅😅 Back half of that game was the best we’ve looked in a while. Like the line shakeup. Line two looks to have potential. Never felt like we were out of this one, although it was frustrating not capitalizing on the PP. Great to see Jonny on the spot get another one. Razor with the GWG! Lyon with a .93 and a couple clutch saves. Let’s beat the Bruins Saturday!
Was not impressed at all. 2 goals late after the big line changes and the other team lays back? Not looking good on the coach. Roys fault and the Islanders..As all season long getting lucky is not sustainable. This team should have half the wins they have. Lottery team here which is also sad, some say a bad signing by Yzerman but what did you want. We needed a Center, Copp was Available and would come to Detroit at the time, where would we be without. Copp or nobody…………..Can only choose from what you got.
Lyon with his crazy eyes (love it). Has a sick focus with a positive body language. A well-deserved victory Lyon, because without your big game there will be no W here.
The other thing is that #8 and #46 were pretty invisible today, well keep it up and please send them to GR where they belong.
A win is a win. IF it doesn't lead to an 8-10 games in a row, better play off the season and kick his ass-. The odds are better via the lottery than that he has something of quality to turn the locker room around. A head coach with absolutely no energy, or drive to lead a team. Lyon needed a big game, and he delivered. Good for him. I like the kid and want him to do well. Kane, despite having 0 points, was not from a lack of effort. He could have easily had 3 assists if the boys converted. Looks like we have our second line(hopefully). Jonny Fuckin' Burgers that's how it's done, TOP shelf. Take that confidence into the Boston game boys, LFGRW!
Seems like if you let the players off the offense leash a little bit, they start looking like they’re enjoying theirself, and are motivated to play. The line comps were good this game, wtf was this all season egg head? The players didnt look miserable all game, hopefully we can start building a streak. Go Wings.
When you are struggling a win is a win , not the greatest game but if it starts them on their winning ways then it was a great game ! Moving Motte with 71 was a good move he played hard and gave some energy to the line ! When 93 starts putting those passes from 88 in the net it could really turn around ! Just a note great accomplishment coming up from a tough Chicago kid 500 NHL games for Fischer !

It was special teams to change Mott to the 1st line? They had 1 PK in the 3rd no PP. Never heard that excuse for several shifts in a row.
