Making the playoffs in the 2022-2023 season is already the worst thing to happen to the Seattle kraken
Thats how the grizzlies died, by drafting a franchise loser for a first round pick
Shane Wrong
Nah this guy is dogwater. Some players are just meant to be AHL superstars.
The Crack never really gave Wright a chance. They drafted him, and didn't use him…
2 points in 18 games is toughhhh
Slaf has his own issues but i am glad we drafted him instead of Wright… imagine the habs fans meltdowns if Wright was in the bleu, blanc rouge uniform…
Bust
As long as his line is not giving up goals, Wright is doing his job for the team.
Hopefully Seattle's going to be very disappointed with Wright's performance, so much so that they're going to trade him to Ottawa?? (hint, hint hint).
Shane wright sucks. Biggest bust since zadina
Shane Wright is one of many number 1 draft picks that didn't work out. In looking at his draft profile from Hockey News he really was never credited with having any great physical attributes. He also was not a great goal scorer.
Wright's biggest problem is shaking off the Number 1 status and developing into a useful player, not a star but useful.
The kid is only 20, look at Lafreniere.
It’s true he sucks (trade him to the flyers they need a center for Michkov)
He's taken time to adjust at every level, i think he'll be fine once he gets up to speed.
The handling of him has been awful. Giving him garbage wingers and slashing his playing time. Ironically his defense has been excellent but the point of him was to be an offensive plus not a 4th line checking center. Worrying for the development of Catton and Rehkopf since the Kraken are not showing the ability to develop their forwards (Beniers never had to compete for a spot and has regressed in the past 2 years)
Bust
I think of Sam Bennett here. Shane Wright is a young guy who doesn’t have the physicals to come in and wow the league, like a McDavid or Crosby did. He was hyped up because of how good he was as a junior, but to your point, he’s a solid nhl calibre player with excellent hockey senses. I think the path you’re likely to see is he burns out in Seattle under the expectations there and it’s going to take a team that can get him at a cut rate to revitalize his career as a new mold. Vancouver rarely takes chances on these kinds of opportunities, but we’re also a team that hasn’t won a cup in 55 years.
😂😂😂 he's only played 34 games. Don't get me wrong, I would love it if he was a bust in Seattle and then came to Philly. But damn people, 34 career games.
That was a weak draft year. In last year list he may have been a bottom first round or top second rounder. Period. The problem is that Shane didn’t accept this reality and because of this dumb luck for a weak year he believe otherwise. This will ruin his career, unless he accepts that he is a bottom fwd in any team, like 12-13 fwd.
Habs should trade for him to Wright the timeline.
Your graphic is wrong. Wright centres the 3rd line, not the 4th. Gourde centres the 4th line.
He’s 20
I only watched his caulder finals games as I cheered for my bears and I'll be honest every time he touched the puck he scared me. Thankfully the bears came out on top. I think the kraken are dropping the ball on him.
Everyone calling him a bust, Seattle gives the kid 10 min a night on the fourth line and everyone wants to see 60+ points 😅
Surprising the Habs got this right but messed up with Michkov.
People keep saying that Michkov wouldn't play for the Habs, which is a completely moronic take.
If a player ever did that, the NHL would have to ban them from the league.
You cannot allow drafted players to choose who they play for, IT COMPLETELY NEGATES THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE DRAFT.
Wait until Bedard busts, it's already happening. Small guys rarely fit this league.
He had an ok showing in a small sample size last year in the NHL and showed offence in the AHL as a 19 year old. 100% still a bluechip prospect for atleast 2 more years.
It's just karma from his arrogance at draft time. Once the karmic justice has been served, he'll bounce back
I think Wright could do with a change of scenery personally
trade him to the bruins
I can play better than shane wright
The first problem with Shane Wright is he considers himself as "a generational talent!" like Sydney Crosby or Wayne Gretsky
Calgary should take a chance on him
