Save Time and Reduce Drag | Why Konrad Click Nuts Are a Must-Have for Foilers

Save Time and Reduce Drag | Why Konrad Click Nuts Are a Must-Have for Foilers

Ryan from MACkiteboarding introduces the Konrad Click Nuts, a tool-free system for quick, convenient mast assembly to your foil board. Ryan emphasizes the Click Nuts’ practicality, especially for those who frequently demo or swap out foils and boards, as it eliminates the need for lugging tools around. The system comprises a simple bolt and wing nut that can be easily hand-tightened. This wing nut can be adjusted to align with the board’s direction, significantly reducing drag when the foil touches down on waves.

The setup is simple and versatile, compatible with standard track nuts commonly used with foils. Ryan demonstrates how to attach the Click Nuts by sliding track nuts into the foil’s slot, placing the foil on the board, and finger-tightening the Click Nuts. The key to stability with these nuts is ensuring they are tightened straight up and down, as sideways installation can lead to loosening.

One of the standout features of the Konrad Click Nuts is the ability to adjust the wing nut’s orientation. Ryan shows how this can be done by lifting and twisting the nut to align front-to-back with the board, minimizing drag compared to traditional sideways-mounted nuts. The tool-free aspect simplifies installation and makes quick adjustments easy, whether on the beach or in the water.

Ryan concludes by praising the Konrad Click Nuts for making foil setup and adjustments straightforward and time-efficient, allowing more time to enjoy the water rather than dealing with hardware.

  1. These are awesome, I used them when getting a demo foil. Adjusting the mast position while out in the water was so much easier than having to carry a tool in my vest and risk dropping it

  2. Great when you're just dialing in a new foil setup or front foil. But once dialed i wouldn't want the drag.

  3. Im sorry, but in what universe does adding twist holds that stick out reduce drag… sure, they can save time but lets not copy marketing bs since there is no way this reduces drag over regular bolts

  4. I'm sorry this just seems stupid, what a huge amount of drag even aligned. Only useful if you want to adjust on the water. Everyone knows their mast position after a few sessions.
