This was honestly brutal. Been a while since I’ve been upset by a single call. Another rough one: Shane Pinto’s “slashing” penalty when he just hits the ice. Any chance you can get it? #request
There was a similar call made in the CBJ-MTL game which I didn’t understand why it would be called interference. Yes i get that there was a rule change to prevent things like that, but that’s on the defending team’s player to keep a tight grip on his stick. Bad call imo despite the fact that i don’t like Stutzle much
Rule 56.2 Minor Penalty – A minor penalty for interference shall be imposed: (v) On a player who deliberately knocks the stick out of an opponent’s hand, or prevents a player who has dropped his stick or any other piece of equipment from regaining possession of it.
Sure we could argue about if it was deliberate but there’s no real point. The ref judged it to be deliberate, he did deliberately swipe at the defenders stick without regard for whether or not he would knock it out of his hand. I say they got it right
Garbage backcheck, beat to the net, 1 hand, full extension, loose grip, gets knocked out by the shooting motion, just brutal brutal brutal call. I really feel for Perron on this play. He just came back into the lineup from dealing with a really horrible family situation and was robbed of his first point with the Sens after hard work and a beautiful pass. Also, the Pinto call for slashing is even more hilarious. He gets called for…. smacking the ice. I shit you not
Good goal tell players to hold on to their damn sticks. As Andy Brickly once said. In his day you were ashamed if you lost you stick. Now it’s almost expected by players to get shitty calls like this
Ok so let me just explain something to you salty sen fans first, you cannot use your stick to knock the stick out of another players hands if the ref sees it you will get called every time, second even if it was a bad call(it wasn't) the canes had two horrid calls in them, Orlav getting that hooking penalty in the first where his stick never even left the ice, and the aho trip when the sen player ran into aho and tripped himself, plus the Sens got away with a clear delay of game. You lost you got dominated blame your team for allowing themselves to be outplayed in every part of the game instead of making up delusions that somehow the refs making the correct call in that situation was what lost you the game

Seriously what did i miss on that replay?
The refs are never wrong
This ref should be fucking fired
He interfered with the ref's parlay.
Waved off for slashing the defenders' stick out of his hand? Pretty soft IMO
Holy fuck these refs
That's a terrible call
yes…interference…
The pinto penalty was also just as bad
Bs call
goal waved off and a penalty for a defender's loose grip…?
WEAK!
Ref here, good call
canes fan, good call
These refs are starting to act like nfl refs.
Refs on a power trip in this 1 robbed fans of a good entertaining game
salty Sens fans,

Unreal, NHL needs to fire this ref
Post Shane Pinto's "slashing" penalty where he got a penalty for slashing the ice

That is embarrassing
Ref must've had a bet on the game

The refs had a parlay for Spencer Martin to earn a shutout

So being weak on your stick now constitutes for an interference penalty? What the fuck is happening to this game, these refs are atrocious
Refs are always on the hurricanes meat

That’s what he gets for diving all the time.
A call that bad has to be reviewed by the nhl. That was really bad.
That has to be the worst call I've seen in years. Laughable.
its ok, the ref hasn"t reffed playoffs in 5 years so it looks like he is aiming for 6
Tell me the nhl is rigged, without telling me that the nhl is rigged.
A pretty weak call because of a pretty weak defensive effort.
That defenceman wasnt even in the play
Don’t know why people are complaining but stutzle literally slashed the stick out of his hand. That’s gonna get called all day
We're going to need add some language in the rule book similar what's in place for high sticking during a shooting motion. Soft, soccerdized league.
if you want this to stop, don't bet on nhl games
Even if the goal counted they still would’ve lost
this call is dog water dog shit
Not a Stuts fan, so this was definitely not a goal.
Such a bad call
Refs are so bad how do you call that
