  1. This officiating in this league is disgusting. Whitecloud left his feet and the main point of impact was the head. When Reeves was given the 5 and match, it was all about “it his responsibility to avoid the head when Nurse was vulnerable, so it’s his fault”.
Reeves didn’t leave his feet. He didn’t change his target point. Whitecloud did both – and got off without any penalty.
I keep hearing from some sportscasters that the hut was legal. Since when is jumping upward so your feet are a foot an off the ice and hitting direct to the head legal?

  2. I believe he kept his elbow tucked, and didn’t initiate the hit by jumping, but he did launch with head contact being the principal contact. Eden taking that away the launch is still supposed to be something you don’t do. Should’ve been at least a 5. Need to get this barbarism out of the game.

  3. It only looked like he(Whitecloud) left his feet, I've never seen a player checking flat-footed, he only left his feet after contact, not a Vegas fan nor Make Belief fan, solid Not Yets Fan…

  4. I feel like they used to talk about calling it a head shot if the first point of contact was the head, but I guess that's not a thing anymore. And I also feel like they used to talk about leaping into a guy, but I guess that's not a thing anymore either.

  5. Lol these announcers were praising the Nurse hit and now are crying when the tables are turned. 😂😂😂

Slowed down the video, one skate was on the ice, shoulder contact first. Clean hit at 0.50 speed.

  6. Look after carefully he left his feet after the hit and knies needs to keep his head up when skating

  7. This is what makes the NHL a whimpy league now, there’s was no “intention” other then trying to throw a good check. He kept his elbow and shoulder tucked into himself untill after contact. His feet don’t leave the ice till after contact. What a whimpy sport hockey has become.

  8. he burst up into his chest, the head was coincidental. this was a perfect hit, no call, game goes on. this is coming from a detroit fan but still. clean hit

  9. Skates BOTH OF THEM on the ground at the initial point of contact.. legal.. read the rulebook.. WHITECLOUD also did not contact KNIES above the shoulders first, the first touching was on the chest, then a split second later came the follow-through contact above the shoulders. And meantime, the skates did not come off the ice until the follow-thru which followed the initial contact. That is why the video review did not overturn the non-call.
    Got it, MAPLE LOAF fans.
Let’s see.. number of STANLEY CUPS since the spring of 1967..
    VGK= 1 in only 7 seasons,
MAPLE LOAVES- 0 in 57 seasons..
    Quit your whining..LOAVES FANS..
Oh, and TORONTO cannot initiate the assaulting complete with fists, of a VGK player WITHOUT GETTING A PENALTY.
Deal with it half century-plus CUPLESS FANS..

  10. Elbow was tucked in. Great hit..but I guess not in this day and age. Joe Bowen, as much as I like they guy, needs to get his head out of his arse!

  11. Officials explanation "We got communication from the league, even though he left his feet, shoulder and elbow had primary contact on the head, this is the Knights we're talking about, so "you understand"".

  12. Reeves waits for players with their head down and tries to level them over and over…..wouldn’t bother him a bit if it ruins another man’s career. He is a goon time to get rid of those few goons that are left.

  13. That's a good hit. The youngsters keep thinkin they're playing shinny. The hit happens then he leaves his feet. This hit not long ago was how the rookies learned how to pay a man's game. This whining about the leafs gettin the short end of the stick is why they haven't won a cup since 1967. This is the exact reason I now watch more nfl than nhl. People watch because they want to watch guys gettin hammered. Lacrosse trick goals only entertain so long. We watch hockey cause guys get hit. If you turn it into figure skating good luck keepin fans. Some games have already become unwatchable because they play like it's rec hockey. They get big $ because it's a dangerous sport. Always was.

  14. Anyone saying thats a dirty hit needs to go watch some old nhl highlights from 70s or 80s. That's how hockey is played. Bet anyone knies learns to skate with his head up sooner than later

  15. every good hit in the NHL these days, the word "suspension" comes up! Its getting outta hand. Seems everyone is scared to hit. making the sport boring. Even these damn "hooking" calls. they should call them what it is…."tapping"!

  16. Not sure what the announcers were watching, but it certainly wasn’t this hit. “His elbow was straight out”, no it was tight to his body. And they kept making it sound worse. I’m sure by the end of the night they said Whitecloud was going at least 100kph, jumped 20 feet in the air and kept himself suspended there like an anime fight while shooting fireballs from his fists and shouting “hadouken”
